Traffic Suggestions
1206 S Woodlawn AVE
- Case Date:
- 10/16/2021
There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone.
North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign.
The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks.
This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

The reflective signs designating the runoff/curb/flower boxes on Allen Street are white. They completely disappear in the snow. Several cars have driven into and over the curbs. Large yellow/green/red signs are needed to make these less hazardous.
Traffic Related Complaints

Please make South Dunn Street between Grimes and Hillside One-Way only, Northbound.
This is a very narrow street. Oftentimes, traffic travels through here at a high rate of speed.
If there is more than one car traveling on the street at a time in opposite directions, we frequently have to pull to the side into parking (if room) or one car has to either stop at an intersection to allow the car to pass, OR one of the cars have to back up into a parking space or another intersection to let another car pass.
PLEASE consider making my street a one-way street Northbound which would align with the only available parking spaces on the side of the street.
THANK YOU! :-)

Street & Traffic Signs
501 E Dodds ST
- Case Date:
- 7/12/2022
Due to parked cars on east & west sides of Dodds, it is challenging to see oncoming traffic to turn left or right off of S. Dunn. Especially during rush hour, I’ve had several close calls with oncoming cars. A 4-way stop would be very helpful there. Or limiting parking on Dodds.

It would be great to have a no parking to corner sign here. From a biker's perspective, it is uncomfortable for oncoming traffic/turning traffic, if a car is parked near the stop sign/line.
Potholes, Other Street Repair
1315 S Lincoln ST
- Case Date:
- 7/21/2023
I am concerned about the north-south alley between E. Wilson and E. Driscoll running behind the 1300 blocks of S. Lincoln and S. Grant. The alley entrance at Wilson is not perpendicular to the street, curving onto the property at 1315 S. Lincoln. Furthermore, a large bush on the east side of the alley is blocking the sightline of the street; cars driving west on Wilson cannot see cars approaching the street from the alley, nor can cars in the alley see traffic approaching on Wilson. I request that the city straighten this part of the alley to align with the connecting north-south alleys and improve the sightline. Thank you.
