Can the City not require the Indiana Railroad to install some type of flashing light, larger warning sign or something to help prevent this from happening? There has been an increasing amount of trucks hitting this bridge, at least 6 in the past year that I'm aware of.
In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street. 618 S Ballantine and many properties drain water onto the street, which freezes on the sidewalk. Not here, but often it is drains through a retaining wall directly on to the sidewalk. DANGER to PEDESTRIANS.
I witnessed a type of "crash" at the corner of 7th Street and Morton. The driver was headed north on Morton, stopped at the stop sign, then turned right/east onto 7th Street but the driver first tried to pull into the bike lane, then at the last second hit the bike lane barrier so hard it sounded like a terrible crash. The driver/car lost a couple of large pieces of the car on 7th Street. There needs to be better signage especially for cars driving NORTH, turning EAST onto 7th Street.
Regarding the intersection at S. Rogers and Dodds streets. It is incredibly dangerous as vehicles frequently breaks abruptly and too late, or simply just blow past the stop signs, especially south bound on Rogers. I’ve seen so many near accidents not just with other vehicles, but many pedestrians. Petitioning to have either preemptive signage about upcoming stop sign ahead, or some sort of lights or reflectors on the stop signs themselves.
This construction thing I believe to hold a sign is blocking the sidewalk by the handicap space.
Tall hedges on SE corner lot of Hunter and Ballantine obscure view when taking a left onto Ballantine from Hunter.
Northern curb of arch haven Ave where it intersects parallel path along landmark Ave is only raised curb on this path between 3rd st/Bloomfield Ave. This raised curb is dangerous on a bike.
Red truck 3575BA6 sitting on exact corner of two roads within housing addition blocking line of sight. Has not moved in weeks. Cannot see around and creating near misses.
Which office handles habitual speeding areas? For the five blocks of 12th Street stretching from Walnut to Indiana Avenues there are no traffic signs (speed limit, Stop, etc.) at all, so some people use it as a raceway - mostly in the evenings and much of the night. Formally it is a 25mph zone, but that is not indicated anywhere along the street. In the last year the main problems have been with Domino's Pizza delivery vehicles that fly perhaps 50 mph down the street. We have spoken directly to some drivers and with Domino's managers, but that has done nothing. What can be done to stop them from making our neighborhood a dangerous and unpleasant place to live? If a Stop sign were put in place at Lincoln and/or Grant, that would likely help.
