I have lived on this street (S Palmer Avenue between Hillside and Grimes) for going on nine years now, and myself and my neighbors are concerned with the speed many non-residential drivers use on this span of Palmer. The majority of drivers maintain a speed far too fast down our street. This is especially troubling because half of our street has not sidewalks and many Bryan Park residents use the street as a walking path. I would like to request either a speed-monitoring study or the installation of traffic-slowing measures on this stretch of Palmer.

There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone. North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign. The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks. This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill. The wooden boardwalk is rotting in one place. The board is soft and flexs under weight. Someone could trip over it.

Broken wooden bridge with tree limbs sticking out at Bryan Park central path

The raised traction on the boardwalks in Bryan park is too tall and poses a trip hazard. In addition, there is a small section near the east end of the boardwalk by the adult fitness equipment that is warped so that it is sticking up more than the rest. It's subtle, but it's problematic. Several people who saw me trip on it today said they had struggled on the same spot earlier today or earlier in the week.

Tenants leave trash and recyclables in front yard 24 hours a day 7 days a week

The trash bins at 1208 S Woodlawn Ave are left out in the driveway along the side of the road for multiple weeks, sometimes with trash inside for over 6 days at a time. There is no indication that the occupants will properly store their municipal trash bins. Trash bins are to be brought back to the house after 24 hours.
