Parks & Playgrounds

507 E Kirkwood AVE

Case Date:
8/17/2022

Homeless people leaving debris against our building(Mural Wall) Also Patrons of people's park have been urinating by our dumpster (we have witnessed) and the corner where our mural wall ends and your fence begins. We have been bleaching the our property to remove the urine smell. We have also witness a few health events from the park patrons and where ambulances have been called. I would also suggest locking up the power outlet at the North end of the park because patrons of the park have been camping out re-charging their cell phones

Blocked Street

517 E Kirkwood AVE

Case Date:
8/17/2022

The alley behind my business is blocked with Trucks and cars servicing IU building next door. Since IU parking lot is right there why are the trucks blocking the alley. My customers need access to my parking lot and Trucks and cars parked in the alley make it difficult to enter my lot.

Parking Meters and Citations

419 N Walnut ST

Case Date:
8/23/2022

Several parking meters in front of our business are not working due to damage (they are not even installed) - this causes nearby tenants to park in these spots "free" for many days in a row, leaving nowhere for our customers to park. Could we please get an update on when the meters will be reinstalled?

Dear city of Bloomington, While I'm grateful your team has looked into this, the issue is far from being resolved. The repair work did not make any improvement in the noise. The remedy that was done the first time worked for awhile. The grate needs to be opened and cleaned out so that it seats properly. A rubber ring or some kind of padding needs to be placed on the contact points to reduce the vibration. The loud noise is going on 24/7. I'd like to invite a member of your team to see it for yourself. Feel free to contact me and I can meet you at the site of the storm grates. Regards, Craig Subject: uReport Case #180991 https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=180991 Closed by Kathleen Powell Per CBU supervisor, a crew went to this site and put con-seal around the manhole covers. This should stop the noise when cars drive over them.

Street Lights

316 N Washington ST

Case Date:
8/28/2020

I recently reported the fact that most of Washington has been kept in the dark at night for months. Tonight street lights finally came on, except, ironically, the one outside my building.Another light, between 8th and 9th was on but the glass cover seems filled by rubble. In general the lamps are and look old and neglected.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

105 1/2 N Dunn ST

Case Date:

Two blocks of east Kirkwood st seem to be closed off. I am asking if this is permanent? I understand its allowing out side dining which is nice. However there is a great shortage of parking in downtown. Removing 2 whole blocks of parking means that I'll never be able to park and use the restaurants that are at those locations. I cant use the library for the same reason. So I understand that this is good for students but it's bad for residents. And I think over all bad for business. I hope that after the virus scare is over you have plans to reopen parking there. What is the plan? Thanks

City Construction Projects

507 E Kirkwood AVE

Case Date:
9/10/2020

Bricks surrounding this sewer grate in front of our local business were missing on Sunday 9/6/20. A city staff member who was in his truck next door offered to temporarily remedy it and came back to do so...the brickwork is not finished and needs to be professionally installed, as it's still a hazard to pedestrians. Too much space sits between the bricks and they are not securely in place. Thank you (and JD Boruff) for working on this, and past sidewalk issues along this block of East Kirkwood.
