People speed out of RCA Park (and this has happened after criminal activity as well), so can traffic calming devices such as speed bumps please be considered? There are deer in the area, plus lots of kids moving into Osage Place.
Shortly after driving on my street, where there is construction on traffic calming devices, I had a flat tire. There is a screw in it from where the construction crews have been working. We would like to know the process for getting reimbursement for repairs. We will have to replace the tire on a car we have had less than a month because of this. We also would ask that crews clean up the area and remove any hazards; there have been cones (and screws, apparently) in the way of traffic on South Weatherstone Lane. Thank you!
It’s a beautiful, sunny June day. Several individuals and about 30 campers with 4 counselors are eagerly awaiting the Bryan Park pool to open at 11 am. 11:05 am and the door is still shut, “POOL CLOSED.” Someone calls the pool hotline. Pool is closed till NOON, because it is 63 degrees out. The cooler morning temp did not discourage 35 people at 11 am - and also then had to reschedule their morning plans because of the unexpected delayed opening. Was this delayed closure truly necessary??
I am the President of the Board of Trustees at Unity of Bloomington. Our parking lot is partially owned by us, and partially City property as the B-Line runs behind our building on S. Rogers & Gordon Pk. (We currently maintain the entire parking lot vis-a-vis snow removal etc.) Recent changes, especially in Switchyard Park, have precipitated a migration of unhoused persons south on the B-Line trail. The UoB parking lot has become a stop-over for derelict vehicles and we're experiencing a significant increase in loitering and trash. The Board of Trustees recognizes that this is an important ministry opportunity, and we are engaged in prayerful consideration of reasonable steps forward. In the meantime, we host a nursery school in our facility and safety is an ongoing concern. My current request is this: 1. Could we receive help from the City to secure a larger trash barrel than the small trail-sized container currently in place near our parking lot (and would it be up to us or the City to tend it)? 2. Could the City help by providing a cigarette butt receptacle for our parking lot? (My husband and I collected more than 100 cigarette butts from the Unity parking lot before services last Sunday) 3. Invasives in the right of way, the north property line, and along the creek including privet, poison ivy, burning bush, & multiflora rose.
Our neighbors park their boat on the street almost every day. There are 4 homes at the end of Sweetbriar Court in a cul de sac. At times this boat and other vehicles make it inaccessible for bigger vehicles to pass through. This makes it inaccessible for Bloomington Access for Senior Citizens. It would make it impossible for a fire truck or ambulance to make it through as Well as trash and recycling trucks. I would appreciate some action from the city to deal with this issue. Thank you!
Constant water discharge from MC Highway Dept Outlet 43 pictured above. Inspection of first upstream storm drain (690) of outlet 43 revealed no flow. Property owner reported that CBU has previously repaired water line between outlet 43 and storm drain 690. Water discharge is at a constant rate, even during periods of dry weather.
Large, open parking lot has had homeless camps set up in the trees, a lot of trash has been left here, also random cars in and out, parked at back edges at all hours
Response to 189024 -- If the fires are happening daily at the homeless camp along the Rail Trail, and the fire department (MFPD) has been out twice this month, yet the fires continue, why would there not be an option to take some level of preventative enforcement action as opposed to reactive only that is not solving the underlying issue? This would be a daily call to 911 if people in the area called every time there was a large, illegal fire. Is that the best use of resources, as opposed to the City cleaning the area up, removing those illegally burning on City property, and preventing any future fires from being started by those illegally camping on the property? The City refuses to address the problem, the county has to roll a truck out here due to the City's inaction, and the adjacent property owners suffer. All to protect illegal activity!
