See case #187164: Water is still flowing from house. The stream begins in the alley coming from the NE corner of the house, then moving south down the alley to Cottage Grove. The sewage water then travels east along the north edge of Cottage Grove to Lincoln. The sewage water then forms a pool on the NW corner of Lincoln/CG. The sewage water then crosses CG and travels south along the west edge of Lincoln until it meets 10th Street, where it crosses Lincoln to the NW corner of Lincoln and 10th, where is has formed a second pool. The property owner claims there is no water coming from their house. Please test the water for microorganisms and when the tests come back positive, inform the property owner of their obligations if they want to continue to rent out houses that used to be people's homes.

My husband and I are present members of the YMCA, and go this facility often. We are concerned about the lack of cleanliness of the locker room, bathrooms and the drinking fountains. This is a health risk to our community, with the potential for diseases. Also, the drinking fountain in the track area is warm, plus never cleaned. Another example is in the shower. I have seen something left accidently like a shampoo bottle, and I will see it there for weeks at a time. The shower smells of urine,and it is NOT clean. Again, we are very concerned about possible diseases. The health department needs to do an inspection. My husband and I have complained to the YMCA multiple times, but nothing has changed. Hello! I live in the Mercury apartments, and across the street is a piano. Im not sure if this is a government funded project or from a private organization, but it seems that people play it at all hours of the night, and it can be heard clearly into my apartment. Lately it has become very disturbing when I’m trying to sleep. It sits outside Nourish Bar, and has also accrued a lot of trash. I can imagine my neighbors on this part of 6th street are also not happy with it. I was told it was a project from the elementary schoolers, so I thought the city may know who to contact on trying to get it removed or moved. Because it happens intermittently through the night, I do not feel comfortable filing a noise violation. Thank you for your help!

Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. In the grass north/south easement behind my property that runs parallel between Washington and Lincoln, just south of Davis, there is an open sewer pipe.

At bottom of driveway is larger patch of frozen water. We have had numerous water lines breaking and wonder if this is another? Ice patch is in curb and in street.

Our ask: Please retrench or otherwise definitively fix the water issue flowing from the high side of Brooks drive (addresses: 1213 and 1215) to the low side (address 2110 east Covenanter drive). Why: When heavy rains occur, high side water floods our yard and garden, resulting in 6 hours of work in clean up. History: In 2017 or thereabouts, the residents of 2110 east Covenanter reached out to the city regarding the water flow issue. At that time Phil Peden was the team lead. He showed me that the high side of Brooks had previously been trenched and there was piping under Brooks drive leading the water to Jackson Creek. He approached the 2 families in hopes of re-trenching, as he said it was the city’s responsibility to manage the water issue, as they had previously. Unfortunately, Phil was met with extreme resistance. To minimize neighbor impact, Phil’s team did trench some, and resolved 30% of the flow issue. He and I had a verbal agreement that I would try efforts on the low side of Brooks to protect my property from flooding. It seems that with the heavier rains, there remains a major issue of flooding despite years of my best attempts. At this time, I would appreciate further attention into this matter and a sustained / definitive fix from the city. Additionally, rocks from 1213 gravel drive continue to migrate across Brooks and deposit in my yard. I have been sweeping them back to their drive.
