Since the dismantle of 2 homeless camps last week they seem to have migrated down the b line to a wooded area in a residential area within a block of a boys and girls club, and 3 blocks away from a middle school. between 11th street and cottage grove ave on Summit st. The city just towed a few abandoned cars from this street a week ago. Now their is more cars that people are clearly living in. They are setting up tents and seating areas like its their living room, theirs tents popping up in the woods along this road, and the TRASH and SMELL is getting out of hand. This is becoming a safety hazard for children who walk home from the school and boys and girls club in the surrounding areas as this is a school zone. The people residing in this "camp" scream, argue, fight, and curse loudly at all hours of the day and night. They block traffic loitering by the cars and scream at any car that tries to get through them, and have animals who are leaving droppings everywhere and no one picks it up. This is also encouraging people to start parking rv's in this area as well, and it is turning into "skid row". PLEASE do not let this camp get set up and get as bead as the two you just dismantled. It will be harder to get them to leave the longer you wait to address this. I have found several syringes in my yard along the alley so their is clearly drugs being used and distributed at this new homeless camp on SUMMIT st. in between 11th st & Cottage grove ave. Right across from the gas station on 11th. thank you.

There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.

Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. We’ve been moved out of our apartment since Halloween of 2021. We moved/transferred our Duke Energy to our new location, however the move service did not shut off our old account. We did not know until last month. I called the arch apartments to have them take the bill back into their name. They did that but the bill got pushed onto my new account. The arch didn’t absorb the bill. The Arch is getting demolished and has their phone disconnected.

Greetings: I am the Director of the Farmer House Museum and I would like to address the safety concern in our ally that connect between Morton and College at 10th Street. I have a detailed video taken by our board member that shows the area of concern and safety. We have applied for an AARP grant to secure funding to repair and update the parking pad and the alley inbetween the Woodburn House and the Farmer House museum. Hello, I am the facilities manager of Trinity Episcopal Church (111 s Grant Street). I reported a gas meter that I believe is unsafe. My case was closed with no further discussion about the concerns of the Church or the well-being and safety of us or our neighbors. The pipe on the meter is NOT well protected and it juts out beyond the profile of the building. Large trucks traverse that alley, not to mention cars. Our building has been struck on occasion by vehicles driving through or backing up while delivering food/supplies etc. The small pipe protecting the meter is only 4 feet tall and has been struck one time already by the wheel of a vehicle. We strongly believe that this will not be the last time and that our building and the well-being of its occupants are being placed in an unsafe situation. While I did not ask that the meter be moved - I would ask that it be better protected at the very least. The pipe protecting it is NOT adequate and it does not address the remainder of the gas pipe that is in danger of being struck by the mirrors or other parts of the very large trucks that regularly enter and exit that alleyway. These are the two issues we want addressed. I will be saving copies of this report and the last one - along with the city's response in our files here at Trinity. When that pipe is struck by a passing vehicle, we will be holding all of the parties we've reported this issue to, responsible. I strongly urge the City and the Gas Company Centerpoint to reconsider leaving that meter in its unsafe and inadequately protected condition. This is a heavily overgrown area. The encampment includes a large tarp roof area and at least one hammock. I observed yesterday at least ten (10) people clearly living in this area.
