Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)

The condition around the area of grimes and Morton on the b-line gets worse and worse by the day. There is trash everywhere! There are several illegal dwellings. Lots of stolen items from tax paying citizens (bikes, shopping carts, signs, etc). Why has the city allowed this for 6+ months? I get it, you would rather have them there vs. campus area or seminary square, but you were elected to withhold the laws/rules of the city for tax paying citizens. So do your job!!!!

At what point will the city address the encampment under the Grimes St bridge? I rode my bike over the bridge yesterday and was shocked at the smell and the amount of makeshift tents. We make a point in avoiding that section of the B-Line. Please do something, it's disgusting.

Ticket #184913 was closed but I’ve have seen the same person(s)thoughout town and other areas on the b-line and seminary park with personal possessions and trash thrown everywhere around their shopping carts they have stolen. Having them leave one area to go to another doesn’t solve the problem. I already assume this ticket will get closed and say “we patrol the b-line and surrounding areas on a daily basis, and if they are doing something illegal they will be asked to leave….etc”. That doesn’t solve the problem…doesn’t even put a band aide on it. Unless real change is made (legistration) and the city follows laws already in place it will just continue! Please have police monitor these areas for theft, public intoxication, harassment, littering, etc…

See case #188221. Electric bicycle lying by the street. Which City Department is responsible for removal? How long can it stay there before it can be removed by anyone and sold for scrap?

Fall leaves and the tree seed that falls with the leaves can be used to reforest idle land, no mow zones, and natural areas in Bloomington Parks, other city properties and private properties. This idea can help both the city and private home owners to make a positive use of Fall leaves to complete the urban forest canopy. Mixtures of tree seed and leaves spread in layers on land will produce dense stands of native trees. Please forward this idea to Joanna Sparks, Haskell Smith, Gillian Field, Beth Cote. I am willing to meet with them to discuss the details of how to use Fall leaves and tree seed to expand the urban forest in Bloomington.
Thank you,
Ray Major

I live on Woodstock Place, and several of my neighbors have leaf-blown their leaves into great piles along the street. I'm concerned that the street has been narrowed for traffic and that the leaves will be washed down into the sewers and cause backups. There was a yard sign in the yard nearest High Street about no leaf collection this year, but evidently it has been ignored. Can my neighbors be compelled to mulch or collect their leaves before they turn into a slick mess this winter?

Other: Re: uReport Case #171533 that was recently closed: (southwest corner of Kinser Pike and Rosewood). The utilities box (which contains full car-sized batteries and other electrical items) is, exposed. Someone has tied a strip of electrical tape around the box. Besides very temporary, it is also unsightly and unsafe. It does not secure the door if someone (say one of the children that frequents the area) should decide to remove the door and investigate the electrical devices inside. I think someone can and should do better. I keep getting the run around from AT&T and Comcast that neither boxes are theirs and am at an impasse. How else can we resolve this?

out walking tonight (7/10) I saw that there was a very large backyard graduation party taking place at 2207 E Covenanter in Bloomington, at a conservative estimate 50-60 people ranging from teenagers to senior citizens and not a single mask that I could see...playing tennis and generally socializing in a way that didn't seem particularly cautious
just thought you should know, because if there's an outbreak in town those are folks you're going to want to talk to

Can there be an education campaign about how to wear to masks. So many people have them below their noses, such as a waitress at a business I was just at
