See issue #182770. They just ripped down the citation and left the trash bin on the sidewalk and the bags full of garbage littering the yard. What good is a citation if there is no way to follow up with a fine? These are students who will likely be moving out in a couple months.

My neighborhood (Near West Side) has been experiencing a very intense burning trash smell most nights for the past two months. This has been an ongoing issue for the past two years that I’ve lived here, but it has intensified. It causes me headaches and forces me to keep my windows closed and waste energy running my air conditioning. It’s not possible to walk around outside; this only happens at night. There are no neighbors or homeless people burning trash (I have walked around and looked, including on nearby train tracks). I have smelled this same smell coming from JB Salvage. Please help us! This is definitely causing long term health effects for this whole neighborhood.

My husband and I are present members of the YMCA, and go this facility often. We are concerned about the lack of cleanliness of the locker room, bathrooms and the drinking fountains. This is a health risk to our community, with the potential for diseases. Also, the drinking fountain in the track area is warm, plus never cleaned. Another example is in the shower. I have seen something left accidently like a shampoo bottle, and I will see it there for weeks at a time. The shower smells of urine,and it is NOT clean. Again, we are very concerned about possible diseases. The health department needs to do an inspection. My husband and I have complained to the YMCA multiple times, but nothing has changed. The privacy fence on the southeast corner is falling down and parts are missing. This is allowing people to use this as a short cut on to private property that borders the back of the apartment. Attempts to contact the apartment have fallen on deaf ears.

Had an individual call the Mayors office the past two days concerned about the excessive growth located near Westplex and 3rd South, west corner. Wanted me to reopen his prior uReport with the number 189088, but am not able to so I am filing a new one. He said that he has also seen homeless individuals in this area.
