Sidewalk Requests
1416 S Palmer AVE
- Case Date:

Hi. I live at 1418 S Palmer Ave. We are supposed to be able to park on the street in front of our house. However, the gravel has washed away and left a ditch that is impossible to park in (towards the far end in the photo). The result is that, when we park here, our cars are sticking out into the street more than they should be. Last week, my roommate's car was hit while parked here, which could in part be caused by this issue with the street parking area eroding. We are hoping that the City can come fill it with gravel or pave it so that we can park here without worrying about our cars sticking out into the street and getting hit.
Thank you,
Hannah

The sidewalk is covered in mud and becomes hazardous when wet.
Street & Traffic Signs

Due to parked cars on east & west sides of Dodds, it is challenging to see oncoming traffic to turn left or right off of S. Dunn. Especially during rush hour, I’ve had several close calls with oncoming cars. A 4-way stop would be very helpful there. Or limiting parking on Dodds.

It would be great to have a no parking to corner sign here. From a biker's perspective, it is uncomfortable for oncoming traffic/turning traffic, if a car is parked near the stop sign/line.

Please make South Dunn Street between Grimes and Hillside One-Way only, Northbound.
This is a very narrow street. Oftentimes, traffic travels through here at a high rate of speed.
If there is more than one car traveling on the street at a time in opposite directions, we frequently have to pull to the side into parking (if room) or one car has to either stop at an intersection to allow the car to pass, OR one of the cars have to back up into a parking space or another intersection to let another car pass.
PLEASE consider making my street a one-way street Northbound which would align with the only available parking spaces on the side of the street.
THANK YOU! :-)
Traffic Suggestions
1206 S Woodlawn AVE

There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone.
North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign.
The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks.
This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill.
