I'd like to request a cross walk/light for the intersection of Rockport & Rogers. There are a couple there on other sides of the intersection but there isn't one for people wanting to cross Rogers on the north side of the intersection.

I am a resident of B-Linr Heights Apartments and I am disabled as is my daughter and quite a few other residents. We use the bus often and love having a bus stop close to the apartments. The problem though is that the bus stop is not handicap accessible. There is a makeshift ramp of sorts that is basically leftover blacktop that is sort of threw there. I know my daughter and myself usually walk alongside the road, there is a bicycle lane, until we reach a lower part of the sidewalk and there we try to lift our rollators to get on the sidewalk. I know there is an elderly man and woman who also take the bus and use mobility aides as well. It is dangerous to walk up the road but when you cannot use the makeshift ramp to access the sidewalk you are limited as to options. I know a few drivers have let us off the bus down at the green trades district sign that is at the road directly across from the apartments. This has helped as the area there is accessable. I don't know if the stop could possibly be moved down to there or if someone could look into fixing the sidewalk alongside Rogers St to make it more handicap accessible, but I do think many of the residents, not just myself, would be very appreciative of it. Thank you for taking this into consideration. We enjoy where we are and taking the bus, we just want to do so a bit safer. Thank you.
On May 23, 2021, at 5:30 am I was driving south on N Rogers to deliver my brother to Bloomington Hospital for surgery. At about 9th street (at the B line trail) I ran directly into a curb that juts out into the road. It was dark out and raining, and this road obstruction was poorly lit and not marked with a reflector ot in any other way. I ruined an almost new tire and will surely need an alignment. We walked the rest of the way to the hospital, in the dark and rain, because we couldn’t get a cab and time was short. Going back in the daylight I see that the southbound lane makes a jog to the center to accommodate this jutting out curb. Going south the right most lane becomes a parking lane, but there were no cars at all parked there so this was not apparent when approaching from the north. In the daylight this configuration is easy to see, but not in the dark and rain. I’ve enclosed a photo taken from in front of Carpenter Realty showing how dramatically this curb juts out into the road. I have other photos that I will try to send separately. (I think this report is limited to one photo. ) Two of my photos show show that the jutting out curb is blackened from tires and scared from wheel rims that preceded me into this trap. If I had a tire store I would open a branch in the big parking lot just south of Carpenter and stay open through the night. Besides reconfiguring this lane transition there are several easy solutions: - Light this curb better. - Put a reflector on it. - use a “ramp” or “transition” curb, as we see at all the new roundabouts. This pedestrian intersection of the B-line and rogers NEEDS A STOP SIGN FOR TRAFFIC! I have been hit by a car here once already, and have been nearly hit several times after that, despite wearing high-vis safety gear and having 6 total lights(including in-rim wheel lights for side visablitiy). I see cars fly through this cross walk at full speed, everyday. I cycle to work every day as well, and often cross here. The angle at which the intersection happens makes it hard for cars to see if bikes or pedestrians are coming from certain directions. There are currently only 2 stop signs on the entire B-line trail where cars MUST stop for pedestrians(which is a clear safety oversight for a town claiming to be bike friendly), and this spot absolutely needs one as well. ALSO, speaking of stop signs on the B-line, you should place an undercover traffic cop at the intersection of the B-line and 7th where there is an actual stop sign, and you'll be ticketing every other person since they nearly all do rolling "stops" at this cross walk. I nearly got hit by a huge black SUV last week and had to yell at the dumb cunt driving who didn't stop at all and just drove right through the crosswalk with me rapidly approaching, all my lights on, high-vis motorcycle helmet and everything, she sees me and just keeps going... seriously, I have no doubt in my mind that if you had an officer watching that intersection they'd get their ticket quota in a day, easy. It's time Bloomington puts its money where its mouth is and does something about the safety of the B-line crosswalks.
Those of us living along Rogers Rd are dealing with a huge amount of noise even when the Rogers Road workers are here and even when they are not here. The steel plates that are supposed to be covering the large rectangular hole/cutout on Rogers, keeps moving around every time a car runs over it. This is not only a noise nuisance on a holiday weekend, but it is not safe.Last night was so extremely disruptive that I called BPD because I didn't know what else to do. I have since found that this is the place to report such things. Please see photo and please inform contractors to make better plans when they finish and go home for the weekend, so the area can stay safe and quiet. Thsi could have been solved if the orange barrel had been placed directly in front of the gravel area, so cars would bypass this completely. Thanks.
Catalent changed which of their entrances their employees are allowed to use. Because of this the left turn lane of patterson (headed west) is used much more and backs up, blocking the straight/right lane too.
Need additional no parking sign as cars are often parked on the wrong side of w howe at Rogers.
The attached referenced utility cut on W. Park Square Dr. is dangerous and is a traffic hazard. Other people in the area have complained this could cause a flat tire or a vehicle to loose control. This morning,1/11/24, the flat tire occurred immediately after passing over this area. Propper fill needs installed to alleviate this hazard!
