I live at 2206 S Rockport Road in Bloomington. Our mailbox post is on the sidewalk, and needs to be replaced. I plan to hire a contractor to install a new post, which may require digging into the sidewalk to remove the old post and install the new one. Of course the contractor will do a proper patching job on the sidewalk. Do I need any special permission to proceed with this project? Many thanks.
On the south side of Winslow at the west side of Piccadilly there has been progressive erosion where the drain pipe goes under Piccadilly. Whenever we get a strong rain for five or ten minutes the ditch backs up on the east side of Piccadilly and does not flow freely under the road. The erosion mentioned has noticeably progressed this year and if left unabated the road will eventually be at risk of breaking at its edge. Also, be aware that the heavy rains flood the east side ditch and form a pool over the sidewalk which also spills out onto Winslow. We can see this from our home. Sidewalk needed. I walked from Peppergrass to Kroger. I had to walk in the street, S. Walnut St. Pike. Very dangerous
The person at this house has had two snow plows stored on the street since winter. The one plow is fairly wide and it is a hazard with the cars parked on the other side of the road.
This time I have included a photo. This is how the sidewalk and gutter has been since I moved here a year ago. Disgusting. Note the cigarettes on the sidewalk as those are the ones thrown from the door with complete disregard for people walking in the public right of way. Previous Ureport is #175706. Trash: Other: The occupants of this house stand in the doorway smoking cigarettes and when they are done they throw them into the street. I have seen this many times and they take no caution about any pedestrians who are walking on a sidewalk right into the path of a flying lit cigarette. I do not feel comfortable approaching these people. Thank you for checking on this ongoing littering problem.

Sidewalk has settled over an inch below the street. Significant trip hazard. Crews are fixing sidewalk end caps the next block down and I was hoping this was included in that work scope. Thank you.
