This is a thank you. I have recently noticed workers in Bryan Park playgrounds using a bucket and a spiked pole to pick up pieces trash. Such an improvement over using leafblowers.
Please also answer this question: when workers are using leafblowers in the playgrounds, what is the reason? I have several times uReported my objections to that practice that stirs up dust, creates noise pollution, and fills the air with exhaust fumes. All that, it seemed to me, without any real purpose. But let me add: I have also noticed much less leafblowing recently. For that, THANKS!

The dwelling unit at 608 S Park Ave is managed by Elkins Apartments. The apartment is located above a storage garage that Elkins, in the past few years, renovated and began using for their maintenance storage and operations. The building itself is only on one electrical circuit, meaning the resident of the upstairs apartment is also paying for the electrical use of the maintenance operations below. I don’t have a great understanding of zoning laws, but I wanted to report this in case it was some kind of violation because it doesn’t seem right.

Animal Care and Control, Today, Sunday Oct 8 at 4:15 two young Siberian Huskies are on Highway 45 West headed towards town. Sheriff Dept will not respond b/c neither is injured or aggressive. No one at Animal Shelter answered phone, of course, being Sunday. They did not appear to be either. They seemed happy to be free and going to town.

My car was broken into I believe on 10/09/23. It was parked in the Morton Street Parking Garage, 3rd level. It doesn't appear that they took anything. I don't leave things in my car, but documents from my glovebox were out on my seat.

The water smells and tastes TERRIBLE!! It seems that this is a recurring problem. I suspect there is a solution that the city is unwilling to implement. It is unacceptable to have this problem every year. Calling it an aesthetic problem is a cop out. I should not have to buy bottled water to have drinkable water.
