Disappointing to read that local police don't want to actually promote public health and assist with a mask ordinance. Definitely lends credence that they are only interested in heavy-handed "crimefighting" and not true public safety. Bloomington, it's time to move from a police approach to a public safety approach. You can argue against defunding the police all you want, but when police only want to "save" people with guns and force instead of public health, we're no better than those departments on the news; we're only killing people in a different way. Time to rethink the way we are caring for our community. More nurses, social workers, and compliance personnel and less bearcats, bullets, and badges, anyone? I'm not even a rabblerouser, just sick of political hypocrisy.
The summer road construction left the northbound lane of S. Henderson gravel with no pavement. This was a fine temporary solution, but the extended length of the lack of pavement has resulted in extremely rough and pitted roadway. Drivers are choosing to drive North in the Southbound lane instead and causing dangerous traffic situations. Can someone expedite either adding more compacted gravel or actually paving this piece of road? It is dangerous to drivers and their vehicles.
Masks should be required at all city events. Why isn't this the case?
For weeks, the contractor doing the concrete curb work at Miller and Henderson has left a deep drop off as you head westbound on Miller to the stop sign unprotected. Of course they have plenty of barrels everywhere else where they filled in the cuts, but not at this the worst one. And every city utility worker coming to and fro from the Miller garage drives right by it.
There has been a smoke alarm going off in a neighboring house since 12:30 Wednesday night. I think it is in her house on the north side of the street of Hunter between Jordan and Highland.
Huge pothole in the road on South Mill Stone Court. Damaged the tire on my car which will now no longer hold air. This needs fixed as we have kids learning to drive in the neighborhood.
There seems to be water coming up out from under the street, directly through the water pipe at the intersection of Mitchell and E University St, near 1600 E. University St. It has been dripping westward down E. University St. all day today. I live at 1410 E University but walk past that corner multiple times a day
Several trees have been removed on Woodhill Drive in the past few years, but the stumps have been left. When can we expect the stumps to be removed?
In the Westpointe subdivision, the sidewalk on the East side of Larkspur has never been completed. Also the sidewalk on the East side of Adams has not been completed to connect to the walk near the Youth Services building. When can we expect to have completed sidewalks in our neighborhood. We’ve been here 30 years and they’ve never been finished. Thank you?
