The alley to the west of 1022 and 1024 W 7th is highy degraded and a danger to cars and traffic. It is so uneven that it's a danger to pedestrians as well. I am trying to upload an image here but the site doesn't seem to be accepting it.
Approximately 30 yards eastward from the stop sign at E Post Road and N Staats St, in the westbound lane of Post road, is a 12" wide by 33" long rectangular indentation originally dug by a contractor and then filled in. The fill has since subsided by one to two inches throughout. Hope it can be topped off to make a smoother street.
Near the alley way at 401 N Dunn water does not drain properly and builds up with gravel and dirt making it difficult for handicap travel. 8th Street has been paved over so many times that drainage is impaired. There is quite a bit of debris there now and this holds a lot of water during a rain event. Finally the alley has been patched a little but it is in pretty bad shape and needs redone. On N. Oolitic near 11th St there is a deep cut in the road where I assume utility work was done but the cut is dangerous as it will destroy a car. There is no sign to alert a car that it is there, and it needs to be filled in or a metal sheet needs to be placed over it until the complete repair can be done. I thought my tires were going to blow out yesterday when I drove over it and I drove very slowly over it because I was aware already that it was there. Please stop ignoring the road conditions around here (Lindbergh and Oolitic between 11th and 17th) and please fix them asap.
There is a massive trench across the full width of N Oolitic Drive. It has gotten terrible and I fear is a safety risk. It has been there since at least August 2023.
Please come and pave our ally! We cannot get in our out of our driveway without hitting the bottom of our cars on the road because of the big holes missing in front of our driveway. A while back some men came and scattered little bits of asphalt along the ally, which did nothing but make the whole ally worse. The entire ally needs repaved dinner than later because the lack of upkeep to the ally is causing damage to our cars. We are documenting all the damage that is being caused to our vehicles because of the negligence of the city to properly maintain the ally and we are also taking note to the fact that the first report we submitted only resulted in the men placing little bits of asphalt around the ally that has made the conditions worse AND the second report we have submitted is still currently open, no response has been submitted to us, and no repairs have been completed. I will continue to report these repairs being needed until the work is finished.
At the end of the pier, on the support of the bench that faces north, someone has written 1488, which is a white supremacist code.
What are the city's plans to remove the "Black Lives Matter" paint from the commissioned mural on the side of the Bicycle Garage facing People's Park? While I support and empathize with the BLM movement, I am concerned that the city has not addressed this year-old defacing of the mural. Recently random graffiti has also been painted on this mural, making the problem worse. Can you advise me if this mural will be restored to its original condition?
