Parks & Playgrounds

Bloomington City Hall

Case Date:
8/21/2020

Hello I have noticed a ton of cigarette waste at switchyard park. I also noticed there is a lack of trash cans along the trail in SWP. I know the park is still under development and trash recepitcals are forthcoming. However, I wanted to let the P&R dept. know about cigarette waste recycling through terra cycle. I think it would be a great way to keep the parks clean and help the planet at the same time! https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades/cigarette-waste-recycling

City Performance

Police should wear masks, period. They are not above the law. And should know it helps. While they are at it, how about they actually enforce masks on out of town protesters who don't believe in them. Would be nice if the Mayor was in control of the officers and not the other way around.

We are appalled that the bloomington police dept is not wearing masks and one officer said he didnt like it so he wasnt wearing one. We sent our students to school last week and they are following the rules wearing masks, social distancing and not gathering in large groups. They have been informed by IU they could get suspended etc by not following these rules. How can law enforcement not do the same, its setting a horrible example and I'm appalled nothing is being done about it. Masks are mandated in Monroe County those officers not wearing them should be dealt with just like our students if they dont follow the rules. We as parents expect this to be handle immediately
