Water/sewage is coming up into our house from the street. This happened a month or two or three ago, right after the city did some work on the main in the street (2 large spots visible in picture). A plumber confirmed both times that there is no backup between the house and the street, and he got the drain snake/declogger to go into the hole (white on the left side of the driveway/this image near the bottom of the driveway) 21 feet (I have a video, separately showing the measurements) or more both times. This time he wasn't able to get the hole unclogged in the street, so it is an urgent situation for us. We are pretty sure the guys who dug in the street to remain a main caused the issue because we never had a problem before then, and the first backup into the house was a couple of weeks after that this summer. We would like the city to come scope it and fix it ASAP please. The plumber suspects that the jackhammering and digging that the big trucks did in the street caused a partial or full collapse, given where the backup seems to be from what he can tell. Please let us know when you might be able to look at it. We have little kids and really need to be able to use water in the house. Thank you!

There has been a PT Cruiser (license plate 612PBD) parked in front of this address since August 2020 at the very least. It has more than one completely flat tire, and license plates dated from 2019. Note in the window states it is a neighbor's car, but that they use bikes more often. This car has not moved at all, and appears completely abandoned in prime street parking, within a neighborhood where parking can be quite tricky.

The north side of 13th Street between Indiana and Fess has an old limestone masonry sidewalk, maybe from the 1950s (?) It is interesting for historic reasons - it looks like it matches the sidewalks that flank Lincoln between 10th and Cottage Grove - but parts of it have degraded to a point that it is now a bit awkward to walk on it, especially at night. (It is definitely not ADA-complaint.) Is there an office in town dedicated to historic preservation that could commission a team of masons to redo this sidewalk? There is a concrete sidewalk just east of this block that appears to match the pattern, but it is poured concrete with pattern-pressed and actually looks a little comical, as if it is trying to be something that it is not. Also, a side note: there is no sidewalk on the south side of 13th Street in this block. If there were one there (especially ADA-compliant), people could more safely walk from campus to "The Standard" along that street.

Our toilet will not flush and neither will the neighbor's. We have both had the drainage pipe reamed out to the street and the problem is still there. We think the blockage is across the street by the stream. Please unclog this for us.

I am requesting a ditch or pipe be installed in the wooded easement south of my property that will move the water out to the storm drain that was recently installed last year on Waldron Street in front my house. On April 13th of this year, we received a lot of rain in just a couple hours and I noticed most of the water was coming from the wooded easement South of my house and running down into my yard, pooling up and overflowing down near my basement (where i've had flooding from the street runoff in years past). It’s a beautiful, sunny June day. Several individuals and about 30 campers with 4 counselors are eagerly awaiting the Bryan Park pool to open at 11 am. 11:05 am and the door is still shut, “POOL CLOSED.” Someone calls the pool hotline. Pool is closed till NOON, because it is 63 degrees out. The cooler morning temp did not discourage 35 people at 11 am - and also then had to reschedule their morning plans because of the unexpected delayed opening. Was this delayed closure truly necessary??

From Reddit Bloomington: Fiber cables damaging sewer lines We live right next to Bryan Park. About a week ago our toilet backed up, and after multiple visits from our (very honest and reasonable) plumber, we discovered that the city's fiber optic internet contractor had carelessly run an optic cable directly through our sewer line. This caused a ton of debris to get into our drain pipe and completely clog the pipe, necessitating a $10k repair. I called the city and apparently, this is happening to people all over town. (The person in the utilities office said I was the third person to call today with this exact problem, and our plumber said that this contractor got thrown out of Carmel for damaging so many sewer lines).
