Two swastikas are spray painted on the B Line, just south of where it intersects with 6th Street (by the Foundry apartment building). It appears there might be another further north, just past Le Petit Cafe.

The gate pin and hinge is made so you can't swing through. The pin is almost out and it won't fit back in. Needs repaired.

A tree limb and vines around a couple of wires leading to a phone pole. The vines are pulling the wires down. I am on home dialysis and my supplies come on a semi every other week. The truck almost pulled them down, since they are so low. Acutally that whole south side of the tree needs cut back, the City normally does that but hasn't this year.
Thank you for your time.

I thought there was a street tree category but I can't find it. Nevertheless, I need to report a hazardous dead Ash tree at the corner of my property at W. 11th St and N. Oolitic Dr. It's the tree right next to the Oolitic street sign. The specific address is 1510 W. 11th aka Forest Homes Addition Lot 48. The tree constantly drops extremely large limbs onto the property, the sidewalk right below, and into the edge of the street. Due to the size of the tree, the limbs wouldn't just leave a slight bruise if one fell on a person. Obviously, I understand the difficult situation we find ourselves in at the moment, but I'm hoping this tree can be removed asap. On Thurs, April 30, Bluestone will be removing a large dead tree on my property and I am also paying them to remove a couple large, dead branches from this Ash tree. That won't take care of what is higher up, though. Thank you.

The ditch area, and currently un-mowed area on N Hancock Drive on the west edge of Crestmont Park, is CBU Street Department area. In an effort to reduce carbon footprint by mowing this strip seasonally, to decrease stormwater runoff into the overloaded culvert during rain events and to increase sustainability, native tree growth and pollinator habitat, this area could easily be a no-mow area. There are no overhead power lines at risk of native trees growing tall in this area. In addition, during an Adopt-a-Greenspace site survey it was noted invasive Tree of Heaven is growing in several spots along this strip. The Tree of Heaven MUST be chemically controlled and not mowed or more TOH trees will emerge. Crestmont Park and surrounding Crestmont landowners are engaged in supporting their woodland landscapes. Adding a no-mow strip along N Hancock is in keeping with the surrounding greenspace. I propose this strip be slated as a no-mow area for the above reasons. Thank you. Please note, the Tree of Heaven has been mapped for Vegetation Management to control.
Thank you, Gillian

I am writing to report a broken tree limb that poses a safety concern. It appears that the limb was damaged during the storm we experienced at the end of March 2023. The tree in question is located on city land outside of my property boundary at 1301 W. 8th Street in Bloomington.
The broken limb is specifically situated at the intersection of Adams Street and 8th Street, where there is a significant amount of pedestrian traffic. The footpath visible in the attached picture is frequently used by pedestrians crossing from the sidewalk on Adams Street onto 8th Street. The presence of the broken tree limb in this area creates a potential safety hazard for pedestrians.
Additionally, there is a slight concern that the broken limb obstructs the view of the Adams Street bridge for drivers turning right onto Adams Street from Fountain. This obstruction may affect the visibility of oncoming traffic, potentially leading to traffic incidents or delays.
I kindly request that the relevant department of Bloomington takes immediate action to address this issue. It is crucial to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists in the area by removing the broken tree limb and conducting any necessary tree maintenance or inspection.
Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter. Should you require any additional information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me at. I appreciate your efforts in maintaining the safety and well-being of our community.
