The tree in the front of my home is jeopardizing my and my neighbor's roofs. We have three large silver maples here surrounding my home. The neighbor's giant, healthy silver maple broke in multiple points during the recent storms, destroying my roof and the back half of my house. It's costing about 15k in repairs, and my insurance took half of my claim amount away in non-recoverable depreciation and the deductible, so I only have enough to fix the roof even though my ceilings, floors, walls and electrical fixtures were all damaged as well. Additionally, the flood damage caused extensive mold growth throughout the back of my house. We are trying to work together to take care of these trees so this does not happen again, especially since I have to replace the whole roof. They are working to address one of the trees by taking out a loan, but the one in front of my house is on city property, and it would be good for us to get those larger overhanging branches trimmed back. Howe St becomes like a wind tunnel over on this corner when it storms and the trees are dangerous at that height. Additionally, there is a tree on the back side of my property in the alleyway between my house and the Optima Dermatology Center. The tree is overgrown and pulling down on the power lines that are connecting the pole to my house and my other neighbor's house. I will contact Duke about this, but they said on their website that they will only address the portion that is affecting the main power lines, not the lower power lines. In this particular case, the tree is affecting both the lower and upper lines, so I'm not sure whose jurisdiction that would be. It would only let me include one image, but I have three that I can send you to get a better look.

Hi - the entrances to Bryan Park at Woodlawn and Southdowns present a hazard. A friend and I were riding bikes and this culvert is hidden when approaching from Southdowns. They didn’t see it, flipped over, and ended up in the creek drainage area. Please take a look at this area and install visible barriers. Thanks!

This report is for the person that created #192463, in case they are checking on status. What you have reported has been reported before and obviously nothing has been done. The same thing has happened to others and me. I don't know what would constitute negligence on the city's part but... they have dropped the ball on this one. My $.02 is fixing the deep dip and drastically uneven surface at the intersection (that's what took me out) would be the least, installing a reflective post at the corners would be even better, or better yet a railing. Thank you for reporting your friend's experience and I hope they are not gravely injured and are doing okay. With any luck this will be addressed.

I have two dead trees, that has not bloomed in Spring or Summer, close proximity to my house- causing potential hazard. Wanted to write this email as an official notification for City to take action, as it is on city property, and if any damage is caused in the next storm with these trees, I have reported this to you on July 27, 2024. My neighbor at address 2131 S Bent Tree Drive just reported two dead trees on City property that are leaning towards both of our houses. Within the past 10 mins, another dead tree just split in half and half of it fell against other trees leaning towards our homes. Please please would the City come quickly and assess/remove these trees before they fall on our homes. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. Lark Hatfield 812-320-1855
