The amount of speeding on Kinser Pike is ridiculous, especially for a school zone. At least I thought it was, the school speed limit zone sign was removed last summer for some reason. Any time of day or night, multiple cars speeding.

Hello. There is a problem with reckless driving in the Maple Heights neighborhood. I experience it on my daily walks on Fairview, 11th, Maple, 13th, Jackson, Rogers, etc... I see it and hear it throughout my day specifically on 13th street both west and east directions and Fairview both north and south directions. Frequently, it is a vehicle speeding north on Fairview, then turning east on 13th street. Then just a few minutes later the same car speeds in the reverse directions. Is this some sort of a methamphetamine pickup? I don't know. But it is regular, has been a regular occurrence, and I am tired of it. The worst regular occurrence are negligent, selfish motorists traveling at very high speeds from the east on 13th street heading west to Maple. I was taking in the recycling bin last night and could not believe the speed at which someone drove past me. This is not safe. There is a special needs adolescent in the neighborhood who sometimes dances around in the street. There are children that play and should have every right to play without cars traveling at high speeds past them. This is incredibly dangerous driving in a residential neighborhood and I would appreciate it if the police could enforce the traffic laws prior to their being property damage and/or personal injury. Thank you.

Once again, the section of West 11th st between Adams St and Fountain Dr has become a speedway. Drivers CD are absolutely flying down the road. Captain Pedigo, I know you are stretched thin when it comes to number of officers, but could you do your best to set up radar sometime on this section of road? Our neighborhood would truly appreciate it.

Many cars heading North and South on Hillsdale are exceeding the 25 MPH speed limit, making it dangerous for pedestrians, bicyclist, and cars backing out of driveways. I'm not sure what the best solution for this is.

The high speeds cars drive on Kinser Pike are crazy fast and it's any time of day (morning, evening, middle of the night). I'm honestly afraid for my 3 year old's life as much as I keep her out of the road. The hill/blind spots before my house really worry me. I don't know if we could have more patrols out here or a speed check sign. I know there was a school speed limit sign in my neighbors yard that has since disappeared.

The vast majority of cars do not yield to pedestrians looking to cross the street using the crosswalk at the intersection of 3rd and Grant. Oftentimes when a car in one of the lanes yields to a crossing pedestrian, cars in the other lane will not yield and drive straight through the crosswalk when a pedestrian is attempting to cross. My concern is that eventually a pedestrian who thinks they are safe while crossing will be struck by a driver not aware of the law. I think Bloomington PD could generate a lot of revenue from tickets in just one day by having someone monitoring that crosswalk. Putting in a new sign that says the law is to yield could also be a solution.

A tenant in this house regularly drives the wrong way on 11th Street. To get to the parking spot in back, the approach should be from Washington (from the west) but instead she takes what she has decided is a convenient shortcut from Lincoln. This has caused near collisions multiple times with pedestrians who are walking on 11th street (which for some reason has no sidewalks in this block). Each time, she flippantly squeals, "Oh, sorry!" as if she didn't know better, even though she has been given a talking to about this several times. It is clearly marked "One Way" towards the east. Can the police give someone a ticket for something they did not actually witness? What is the best approach when entitled undergraduates regularly violate traffic regulations because they are inconsiderate, selfish, and feel the rules don't apply to them? This is a Chickering rental.

Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'"
