We put our Christmas tree out Monday for pick-up on Monday since this is the last week for it and it was not picked up. The recycling crew shook the snow off and pulled it out further so it wouldn't be missed but it is still there as of this morning. My address is 807 S. Mitchell. There is a pile of feces next to the bus stop in front of my apartment building. Apartment building: 1715 N College Ave, bus stop for city bus line #1 (next to Steak n Shake on College Ave). The pile has been there for a week next to the bus stop covering on the sidewalk.
Trash put out Wednesday for Thursday pick up still not picked up as of Saturday evening. Leaving it in the street until you pick it ip. It will be over flowed next week. I'm not bring 10 day old garbage into my house until next Thursday. It is not on the curb because the city plows the snow from the cul de sac into my yard which is ok because there is no other place to put it. So I don't have a curb at this time. I'd appreciated a notification if you weren't going to pick up the trash so I could have found a dumpster somewhere. Other neighbors still have their trash cans out. I presume the other gave up, or maybe theirs was picked up.
Hi, I had a note from the sanitation crew that said my trash was too close too a vehicle (true) and had to be placed on the curb. I live at 419 S Highland Ave. The trash and recycling cans were on the sidewalk, as they always are, so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put them closer to the street? Also, they are very close to a car because it's the only place they can be put other than the street or the driveway (which is shared) so I'm not sure what I should do. Also, my yard waste wasn't picked up at all, so I'm in a bit of a quandary. I think very highly of the folks picking up the trash and recycling and want to do whatever I can to make it as easy as possible. I'm just not sure how to do that. Please advise. There is a new garbage can and new recycling can that were delivered WEEKS ago that are sitting on the handicap sidewalk ramp. The garbage cans don't belong to the house (the garbage cans are on the side of the house---they don't belong to that house). Please can someone remove these cans---they don't belong to anyone and are blocking the sidewalk for kids walking to school.
The trash/recycling crew left most all cans thrown off the sidewalk, into the road on their sides today. This is not normally the case, and it was absolutely NOT weather related. The trucks woke me up three times today. And then I find my trash can only half emptied, with one bag still in it. Either the trucks are malfunctioning, or someone was in a bit of a hurry to get done with the route.
Three unit apartment building at 203 E 10th seems to need more gray top trash containers so the residents won’t leave bags laying around the sidewalk impeding pedestrians and making a big mess on Washington street which is existing now. Please help if possible. Thanks. Really appreciate this city service towards keeping Bloomington downtown safe and civil!
Every day after trash and recycling pick-up, there are pieces of trash and recycling all over the road, sidewalk, and yard.
Today I've decided to complain about an issue I started regularly noticing months ago. Whoever is now collecting trash &/or recycling on our street, S. Eagleson Av, in the section between 2nd and Sheridon, is routinely dumping the recepticals on their sides on the ground whereever convenient. (See photo) This morning they left my neighor's on the ground blocking the entry way to our common driveway. When I came to move it, I realized they had also broken the lid. Then as I drove south on S.Eagleson, I saw that this was done all the way to Sheridan, where I assume the truck turned. At least half the bins were on their sides, some in the street. I took four photos the whole way, as well as two of my neigbor's receptical- Unfortunately your portal only allows a single photo, but I have all the others. Please address this situation. There is no reason the recepticals can't be placed upright, but at least they should be neither broken nor left on their sides in the street, on a sidewalk or in the entrance to a driveway. Dan Caner
To enhance accessibility for mobility wheelchairs, could sanitation workers please replace empty bins on grass off sidewalks? I am talking about the new sidewalks and walking path on West 17th that are situated by the curb without a grassy strip between the sidewalk and curb. Disabled people have difficulty navigating wheelchairs on trash day. Neighbors place their bins correctly at night but sanitation workers unload the empty bins willy-nilly on the sidewalk. It will take more work but hopefully they understand. Sanitation workers do a great job.
