Now that the snow is mostly gone, I hope that the leaf collection crews soon will be able to resume the work that was not finished before the winter started. Leaves were never removed from Greenbriar, Mayfair, and Arden neighborhoods last fall. Snow fell on top making snow removal a mess. Potholes emerged making it even worse especially where Wilton and Greenbriar merge. Then last weekend - city crews were pumping what I presume to be leaves out of the storm sewer leaving a huge mess. The entry to our neighborhood now looks really bad. Crumbling roads covered with muck and piles of dead leaves. What does one need to do to bring attention to this? When will the leaves be removed and the roads be repaired and cleaned up?
I have been very disappointed with the snow/ice maintenance of Rockport Rd south of Tapp Rd this winter. Before writing this letter, I researched your site and discovered The Highlands neighborhood, and ways in and out of the addition, are exclusively excluded from within the city limits. It appears there is a cut out just around my neighborhood excluding it from city snow/ice removal. Now I realize why there is a huge difference in road conditions and safety once you cross Tapp Rd. With how curved Rockport Rd is in that stretch and how many pot holes and construction obstacles there seem to be, it is very dangerous to have even a little bit of snow and ice on that road. I was very surprised that this doesn't fall under the city's responsibility considering how many residents there are in that neighborhood and how many children and school buses come in and out. I work at the hospital, a 3.5 mile drive, and have a very difficult time getting to and from work on that road. I have had to get a ride multiple times during this severe winter, as the hospital does not close and always needs its employees to be there, safe and on time. I want to know if there are options to get that road cleared during winter weather to increase safety for the city's many residents of The Highlands neighborhood?
Location: 611 E State Road 45,46 Bypass and 711 to a lesser extent. There is gravel and sand on the driveways of these homes at the junction of the sidewalks. This makes it difficult for the bicycle riders to ride throughout it. I assume it is the responsibility of the owners to clean it up. If you could give them a call, maybe that would help. The 611 address is very bad and the 711 address is moderate. On the positive side, your department has been doing an excellent job of cleaning up the limestone chunks that fall down on the sidewalk further east where you had to cut through the stone for the new highway. Hi: I am just wondering who is responsible for street/landscape maintenance along certain streets in the city and county that I travel often. Along Smith Rd., just north of Hillside, there was a lot of brush that has been cut down but nothing else and an ugly partial fence is still standing. The new roundabout at Sare Rd. and Rogers….who is responsible for maintaining the landscaping that was installed. It is a bunch of weeds right now. Along south Highland, just north of Rogers, there is a curve that is alway full of potholes and the street and sidewalk are a mess. On Sare Rd., at the entrance to Hyde Park, who is responsible for a mess of grass clippings that is always left after the grass is allowed to grow very, very long. It is still there. Tree fell during storm onto Winslow sidewalk between Abby ln and roundabout. I shoved off to side. Needs some heavy duty saws to remove. No trouble with power lines. Limited truck access. Maybe from roundabout up hill.
