On Friday, July 12, a crew from JE Reedy pushed through my double locked gate to clear a path so they could install fiber overhead (in a neighborhood that already has fiber). They seriously cut at least 3 trees: 2 are trees that get no taller than 15 feet, and a pine that was near the pole they needed to climb (Duke has cleared this area for years and never had to hack the pine). They said that they came by on Thursday but they did not leave any notice that they would be working in my backyard so they were trespassing.
They could have done their work without destroying my fence row but that would have involved creativity and a little effort. I am sickened, angry and sad and want someone in the City to see this mess and come up with a way to make this right. I have several photos but could only upload one.

Truck trailers partially blocking the sidewalk again. First, thank you to the Engineering Department for getting the business to move the truck out of the way of sidewalk when the sidewalk was the official pedestrian route around the Duke construction across the street in August 2023. Thank you!
The problem reappeared this morning, now with a second trailer. I am sending this uReport to the Engineering Department, since you were able to get a remedy quickest last time. But please forward this uReport to Parking Services if that will get a remedy sooner.
Street & Traffic Signs
701 N Maple ST
- Case Date:

Most all of Maple Street is marked as No Parking, except a short distance before it intersects with 11th street. 2-3 cars consistently park in that short distance, fully occupying the right side of the road. Cars turning onto Maple from 11th cannot see when a car is approaching the intersection on Maple, and the cars on Maple are forced to stop on the opposite side of the road, causing near miss accidents daily and excessive honking. I would like to request that the “No Parking” zone be extended all the way to the stop sign as all residences (including the apartments in the photo) have designate parking areas. The intersection is also frequented by school and city busses, causing even more danger.
Blocked Street
810 W 7th ST
- Case Date:
- 1/3/2022
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St.
As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years.
As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed.
With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed.
Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears.
I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks.
Thank you for your attention in this manner,
Sincerely,
Rick Laux

Blocked Street

This home is a rental property. Whoever is renting it currently has their very large work truck parked on the street every day, which is very near the stop sign at Larkspur and Woodhill. The truck has leaked what looks like oil all over the street in front of the home. The truck makes viewing around it for oncoming traffic very difficult.

Please consider adding a stop sign at the intersection of Highland and the street leading into/out of the YMCA property. Curving road, ascending and descending roads, blocked views, speeding cars, pedestrians and children. Need a safer way to cross and turn at this intersection. Thank you

Because Miller is a popular throughway and Maxwell does not have stop signs at the 3-way, there have been multiple accidents and even more near-accidents in the years since I've lived nearby. We could use stop signs to help the flow of traffic a lot.

The stop signs at this intersection are rather confusing because Indiana Avenue is a two-lane one-way street. It can be difficult to determine who has the right of way quickly enough to avoid interrupting the flow of traffic. Also, I have seen drivers ignore the stop signs on Indiana on several occasions. I think this intersection needs a stoplight.

Please implement a 4-way stop at the intersection of S Henderson St. & E Graham Pl. / Graham Dr. because there are multiple neighborhoods which people come in and out of along these roads. It can be stressful to turn left from either of the Graham roads onto S Henderson St. Moreover, it can be a struggle to walk across the intersection without adequate protection in order to access the trail along Henderson or the Sports Complex nearby.
