Within the Bentley Court neighborhood the city street and sidewalks are blocked by overhanging trees. It is mostly in the middle of the neighborhood along Abby Lane. By the post office boxes and across the street. You can't miss it. You might want to drive around the small neighborhood a bit to see other spots where the sidewalks are blocked. Probably a 30 min job at most. Thanks so much. The main entrance island with three trees are fine...they were trimmed last Fall.

Hi - I feel like the city needs to issue a warning to cyclists to take extra precautions when locking up their bike. On Monday around 11am, my $1200 bike was stripped of all of its parts that were not locked to the bike rack. This happened right outside my office in a somewhat busy parking lot, in downtown Bloomington, in broad daylight. From the security footage it took the person about 20 minutes. A police report was filed and the officer mentioned he'd seen similar cases recently. After posting about this on social media, I've now heard numerous cases of bikes either being stripped completely or partially during the day at various spots downtown over the past couple weeks. Had there been any media or warnings issued, I would have certainly brought my bike into my office, rather than risk losing most of it. I realize it's just a possession (and not a life) and can be replaced, but given that this seems to be a growing trend, a warning and increased awareness would be helpful.

The sidewalk in front of the dentist office at 221 east 7th street has a speed bump across it where the parking lot connects to 7th street. This is a tripping hazard for pedestrians.

There is a set of two squares of sidewalk that need fixed outside of the atlas at 3rd and college. I fell there and shattered my knee two years ago. I filed with the safety office. It still isn’t fixed. Please do something with it so no one else gets hurt there.

There is a walk way from Cascades Addition from near 651 Skyline Drive that goes into the Arlington Elementary School yard. I have tried but never have been able to find out who (school or city) is responsible for it. I think the school has cleared it out every year before school starts. Children from the neighborhood walk to school that way and people walk to Kroger or to the walking path and frisbee golf course at Arlington. Right now it is really overgrown and some people have come racing their bicycles and scooters out of it and almost hit us twice (they were young adults). There used to be posts on it so no one could do that or try to drive on it! Picture is From Skyline Dr. looking up (see cut off post). I think the posts need to be put back up and it definitely needs to be cleared on both sides of path from overgrowth.

I was going to the CASA office and then to B-foods last week. I wanted to park my bike at this convenient bike rack on the B-line, only to discover that I couldn't because of the stupid scooters. No, I don't want them obstructing the walks or preventing my use of bike racks!

The intersection of Pete Ellis Dr./Discovery Parkway and 10th Street is used by residents of numerous apartment complexes, bus riders, and community members accessing the post office and the greenway that goes along 10th St. The intersection is necessary for access to Indiana University from Woodbridge and Fountain Park Apartments, which hosts many graduate students. However, there is no crosswalk, pedestrian lights, or sidewalk platforms to allow for safe crossing along this very busy intersection. Additionally, the traffic lights are not able to be seen from the four corners of the intersection, forcing pedestrians to make an educated guess on when to cross. In short, the intersection is dangerous and near impossible to cross. Would it be at all possible in the future to include a) a crosswalk b) a pedestrian crosswalk light c) sidewalk cutout/curb ramps on the two corners in which there is not one currently? Hi Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. Green County does not have an animal control- SAFE Animal Rescue inc in linton is a filthy building, one breaker controls the whole building, ventilation is dangerous. they do not clean properly with chemicals and have no MSDS books for the people that "works" They have aggressive dogs in the garage but let kids run in and out of the building. someone is going to get sick, or hurt The Cat's are dying all the time. They post they need money on their Facebook but their volunteers say they are not putting the money to take care of the animals. They are abused and left all day unattended while the board members work, even when the president is there she is not taking care of the animals in the building. I did not know who else to contact- I have contacted the Sullivan animal shelter a few times but one of their board members Rebbecca Carmichael removes the complaints because she is on the board at safe. I have also reached out to GCHS but there is personal issues between them and safe that they will not get involved. They presidents husband is a police officer out there, so trying to call them does no go either.
