Attn. Parks Department
A request to install a dog waste station at the Park Ridge park.
We have discussed preliminary logistics with staff member Joanna Sparks when she met with us on a related parks initiative. We believe the station will be well utilized and maintained by our park custodial staff member. He provides good consistent service by the way. Please consider this request, placed in a shady area maybe at the base of the ADA path close to the street circle level. We have many dog walkers in the area so it will be appreciated. Thank you -

Park Ridge neighborhood: Partnered with the traffic calming bumps are stakes with reflectors to bring driver's attention to the speed bumps. Nearly all of the stakes are missing the reflectors or the reflectors are damaged. Some of the pairs of stakes have one of the stakes missing like in front of my house. (A lawn service damaged it and removed it).
So please survey and replace the missing reflectors and a couple of the missing stakes. The stakes with no reflectors appear dangerous. Like "Games of Thrones" dangerous. It was odd at the conclusion of the 2022 Morningside repaving, that the new version of traffic calming bumps was installed (thanks), but the stakes were ignored in terms of reflectors. We appreciate your attention on this item.

One of the fence posts along the Polly Grimshaw Trail has become loose at the bottom. The post is noticeably wobbly as is the fencing in that area. My guess is that the post rotted out approximately where it goes underground and needs replaced. Please address this issue now so that the fence doesn't fall down in this area.

This is a repeat of a previous ureport as I haven't heard any updates on the previous ureport nor seen noticed action yet being taken to address this issue.
There is bare ground at the playground structure at Park Ridge Park. There is need of new fill material in particular at points of high traffic (the bottom of slides, the bottoms of steps etc). Also - there is ongoing erosion at locations through out the park, in particular to the north of the concrete steps leading in to the park and to the north of the the playground structure. I suggest strongly trying to address this (and the other locations) sooner rather than later as previous experience suggests that these areas only get worse with time.

The playground at Park Ridge Park needs additional fill/fiber/woodchips/whatever it is called. There are areas of consistently exposed dirt, there are deep pits under the swings, and the distance between the bottoms of some of the slides and the playground surface has grown large.
Additionally, there are areas of exposed dirt in the grassy areas around the playground in areas or erosion. It has been worse in the past, but still seems like it needs addressed to try to prevent additional erosion.

We suspect the folks who mowed the Park Ridge Park on Friday blew large quantities of unmulched leaves and pine needles into our yard, in particular to a small stripe of yard. Given that 1) the city has already picked up leaves in our neighborhood and 2) we are trying to mulch (per the city's request) but given the large amount of leaves deposited in such a small area, we do not have a good solution for getting rid of these leaves. A a minimum, we request that Parks and Rec ensure that the mowing contractors do not blow leaves and pine needles out of the park (and ideally trail) into our yard.
