Bloomington resident Sam Melchior (dsamuelm375@gmail.com) contacted me through an email message the following concern: " I would still appreciate a further response as the scooter and ebike problem continues to worsen. I have added ebikes due to the increased use of them on the Bloomington Rail Trail and the increased size and speed of these vehicles. They are extremely dangerous and damaging to the natural surface trail. Thanks." Please direct a response to Mr. Melchior via his email address dsamuelm375@gmail.com. Thank You, Pat Martin
Query the status of #180653, first reported on July 15, 2022. Nothing has changed since then. Cases Locations Report a problem open #180653 Other: 420 Eastside Drive has been for years and still is a junk yard. There are several vehicles that have not moved in ages, there is trash in the yard (empty soda cans, beverage container). How about City Ordinance 15.16.020 (6): a vehicle that is six or more model years old and mechanically inoperable, and is left on private property continuously in a location visible from public property for more than thirty days.
Two bedroom home with 6 & 7 vehicles parked all around and on the street and in neighbors driveways. Sometimes you can barely get down the road.
This house is abandoned and has been for at least the 8 years we've lived on the street. There is often excessive overgrowth and the backyard is literally growing INTO the structure of the home. It's a fire hazard and a danger to young children in the neighborhood. Recently, we tried to get our escaped cat from the backyard and I was absolutely stunned by the horrible conditions I saw in the rear of the home. Pests are likely breeding like crazy in the home - we've had two RATS killed by our cat in our yard this year. I've seen roaches on the driveway. It's awful! WHY can't the city do ANYTHING about this abandoned danger before something major happens?
I have lived on this street (S Palmer Avenue between Hillside and Grimes) for going on nine years now, and myself and my neighbors are concerned with the speed many non-residential drivers use on this span of Palmer. The majority of drivers maintain a speed far too fast down our street. This is especially troubling because half of our street has not sidewalks and many Bryan Park residents use the street as a walking path. I would like to request either a speed-monitoring study or the installation of traffic-slowing measures on this stretch of Palmer.
Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'" There is an extension cord with lights being run across an alley to provide light to this illegally parked vagrant that is living in this RV. The extension cord is ran across the alley behind 1207 w cottage grove avenue. This is a fire hazard , a trip hazard and unsafe. I’m not sure what this vagrant is doing with his sewer and water. The alley runs west to east between Summit Street and Alexander Street and Cottage Grove and wedt 10th street. Thank you.
