The tree in my neighbor's yard at 621 W 4th St has been falling on my yard, limb by limb for over a decade. This time, a limb about 13 inches in diameter and over 10 ft in length fell. a newly planted evergreen tree sustained significant damage. In the past there has been damage to our siding, a gutter and each time has broken things on our porch. I am terrified that a limb will fall on a person or that the whole tree will come down on the back of our house, which is where we sleep. I'm also worried about the cost to replace the over $3000 worth of trees and shrub we have planted in the last 4 years and more importantly the impossibility to replace the growth on all of these. The tree is a dangerous nuisance and I would like to know if the city might urge the owner to at least trim out the dead stuff, if not cut down the whole tree.
#206651 was closed by Rob Council with this note: "Addressed issue with property owner. Will follow up." What does this mean--that Rob will follow up or that the Homeowner will follow up? It has been 30 days since I mailed the owner a certified letter and 19 days since I filed a nuisance complaint. The "resolution" of the report tells me nothing. Did the owner say that he would remove the dead parts of the tree? Does the city agree that it is dangerous? I am no less worried today than I was 4 weeks ago, but the case is closed.
The house at 621 West 6th Street has tiny no parking signs in their yard along Fairview Street. Is this an actual no parking zone? If so, these do not look like legitimate no parking signs.
