The tennis and pickleball courts are in need of sweeping. There are many pine needles down since storms. The courts are slippery as a result. I’m sure there are many demands after rains, but there are more than 30 people over 60 years old playing this morning and I am concerned for their safety and your liability.
Park Ridge Neighborhood Association would like a bike rack installed at Park Ridge Park. Can the installment coincide with the Longview Greenway improvement project next year? In my mind it makes sense to be at street level.
Light on the basketball courts is broken. Would be awesome if there were more lights too. My friends and I play here and with the days getting shorter it would be great to be able to play in the evenings.
r: Can you let your staff know there grass on baseball field
The Griffy Dam parking area could still use a trash can and/or dog waste station. Lots of folks fish and walk their dogs here, but there is no place to dispose of old fishing line and dog waste. Last time I mentioned this they said they would reassess once the new trail was completed. I know it’s a bit out of the way but maybe the crew that maintains Ferguson dog park could swing by and collect it once a week? Thanks!
The street apron at the entrance to Leonard Springs Nature Park is badly eroded, to the point where vehicles can bottom out and scrape against the edge of the remaining asphalt. This happens even when turning very slowly and carefully into the park. I believe it needs to be filled in with road base and topped with asphalt or concrete. Thanks!
I don’t remember what the initiative is called, but someone planted trees and the city stopped mowing a large swath of Butler Park a year or two ago. Predictably, invasive plant species immediately colonized the area once mowing ceased. I understand the sentiment of trying to re-naturalize a space, but it’s counterproductive if we’re just going to create another xenotope. If city staff don’t have the time to maintain the new space and control the invasive plants, then I recommend that mowing be resumed in the meantime.
Trailer parked on unimproved portion of yard, looks like a billboard for the company renting the property.
Camper parked in yard. Easily visible from alley behind the house.
