Mrs. Myers called on behalf of her son, Joe Myers, because the alley-way running from Rogers St. east -west near the Rogers St. fire station needs to be paved. She wants the Street department to have more money so that they can pave her alley sooner than the fall of 1999, when Bobby Chestnut told her it would be paved.
Mr. Madsen called to express his concern about the efficiency of tax money on the sidewalk sweeper the City just purchased. He believes the City merchants should sweep their own sidewalks, and in the winter should shovel their own walks to better promote people to use the dowtown area. Mr. Stidd called and said that the road at 5717 S. Rogers was supposed to have been cleaned up by CBU contractor, but it is extremely dusty and dirty.
Mike Morris (917-538-5927) called about a tree that fell on the multi-use path handrail on Rogers, just east of High. He mentioned it happened months ago and wanted to know when it will be repaired.
A contractor (possibly PCT?) installing a utility pole at NW corner of Lincoln and Smith is blocking the alley and blocking parking on private property.
Caller said that semi's are taking w 17th to N Lismore Dr to W Marquis Dr. They are getting stuck and running over curbs. Also getting stuck and N Crescent Rd onto Fountain. Wants to know why they are routing them that way.
They were at a light by 3rd St.and the city vehicle was not signaling at the intersection. The city driver then cut them off (he was on the phone). Further down by 17th St. the driver slowed down to 10 mph and as they went to pass him he started giving them "dirty looks". The city driver was in Fleet Vehicle #409 at 3:15 today.
