complaint of glass and pottery being dumped in storm drain run off behind opportunity house
There is a growing pile of garbage behind and alongside the house of 501 S. Mitchell. This adjoins a walkway that links two parts of Hunter Ave and it's just above a waterway that feeds into Jordan River. Reporter is concerned about rats and other sanitation issues that could occur if left untreated.
Trash in front and back if housr include old mattresses.
Mary Friedman originally emailed the Office of the Mayor January 14th, 2016 complaining that this property had been abandoned for the last 5 years. At that time coyotes were living in the home. However, she emailed again October 19th, 2016, saying the property is now being occupied by a group of homeless people.
Growth behind new apartment complex at 720 N Walnut is again exceeding 8". This is the same area that was reviewed and cited early this summer.
That said, they left behind several trash cans full of garbage that have since been rifled through by opossums and other vermin. There's garbage scattered all along their driveway in front of their garage. I've written a few times about their overgrown yard and utility easement.
