For the past 4 months the city alley behind my house has been blocked by cars illegally parked. The residents of the rooming houses at 1000 and 1002 E Atwater think that the alley is extra parking for them (they have ten places allotted to them by their landlord which already take up part of the public alley). We are awaiting work by the City Street Dept to remove a tree that has deformed our fence and by Duke to top off trees that are growing into the power lines. The illegally parked cars deny access to both of these entities, so I am asking that the City patrol the alley daily and that a "No parking, towed at owner's expense" sign be placed in the alley to enforce the no parking rule. Thank you.

Why has the City issued a neighborhood parking permit to a vehicle that is larger than permitted by 15.32.070? The vehicle is parked in the 600 block of S. Eastside Drive.
15.32.070 - Certain vehicles—Two-hour limit.
No person shall allow a truck, trailer, tractor, bus, housetrailer, semi-trailer, or other vehicle having a load capacity in excess of one ton, or a length in excess of nineteen feet, or a height in excess of six feet six inches, or a width in excess of seven feet to be parked upon the streets of the city in excess of two hours. This prohibition shall not apply to pick-up type campers. Any violation of this section is a Class C Violation and subject to the penalty listed in Section 15.64.010(c).
(Ord. 82-1 § 1 (part), 1982).

I paid my son's 40.00 parking ticket #I1200280 on line May 9, 2012. Your website said that it did not go through. So I tried it again, and it said there was a problem with the credit card. I tried it one more time and it went through. Well... I received three receipts saying it was paid. Ref. #1 = 10.174.5.142-1372DBC7397-70EF2644-3DD4FC3E Ref. #2 = 10.174.5.142-1372DA975E1-4455AA88-796A35A7 Ref. #3 = 10.174.5.142-1372DA49A86-7BD90C64-518A26FB Two of the three receipts have shown up on my credit card. So now I have paid 80.00 for a 40.00 ticket. Please check into this error and make the necessary changes as soon as possible. I hope that the 3rd receipt does not show up on my credit card. You may also want to look into your website and figure out WHY this happened. I will be looking for a credit to my account and would appreciate an acknowledgement to this issue. Sincerely Karen M. I have been contacted about 2 outstanding parking tickets. I have spoken with the collection agency to inform them that those tickets were paid and I gave them the confirmation number that the tickets were never delinquent. The person I spoke with didn't update their system with the confirmation numbers in order to follow up with you (on March 21, 2012) and they called me again today. I would like to email you the receipt that I received from your website when I paid. Below is a copy of the receipt:

Parking on Hillsdale is clearly marked with signs that say "residential parking permitted M-F, 8-5." However, cars are routinely parked on both sides of Hillsdale in the evenings and on weekends. Most of them are parked near the intersection of Hillsdale and E. 7th St., which creates a very narrow lane for traffic and is a hazardous situation for drivers. The parking regulations for this street need to be enforced.

Received a call today about a parking issue on 15th Street between Jackson and Madison. Caller says a new house has been built on that street and the homeowner parks a black truck in front of the home...reducing the narrow street to only one lane. He believes the homeowner is parking legally, but is concerned that it may be a safety issue during bad weather.

This has nothing to do with positive feedback. I received an overdue parking citation issued in 2011 to a license plate number. I was just issued this license plate # in May of 2013. The Dept of Motor Vehicles records will verify this. I want my name and this $40 due for an overdue parking citation removed from my name and records. Thank you. Go back to 2011 and find out who that license was issued to and seek payment from them.

You of course have parking problems galore near campus and older part of town. Why not institute policy of granting residential-area by-the-day parking permits for persons with valid handicapped designation? Say, for 8 am-4 in residential areas zoned restrictively? I was not legally able to park in and stroll my old neighborhood--tho' fortunately found the garage on Atwater. Had never expected to have pulmonary problems. Even area residents complain about campus parking. Can't you remove evening quotas for special events?
