In the past we have put in a complaint about the trees at mills pool. They need cut back. They hang way to low. Someone is going to put an eye out. Oh wait my son almost did. On July 15th my 12 year old son was walking on the sidewalk at the circle to go swimming. He turned his head and jammed a hanging tree branch into his left eye. His poor eye was red and draining and it hurt. We went to the dr the next day. He got some eye drops and they sent us to the eye dr. Had to wait till that wed. Unfortunately he can not swim for atleast a week. We have to get the open wound on his eye ball to heal up. I hope you take immediate action on this and keep on top of it from now on. This never should have happened. Those trees should never hang that low especially since we have put in a complaint on them before. Here is pictures of his poor little eye and the trees. The trees along the street in front of the church need to be trimmed back. Limbs are blocking the sidewalk access all the way up to the top of the hill at the countryside street intersection. Thank you

A tree planted by the city a few years ago was damaged by the storm today, June 25 2023. A large branch has fallen, blocking the sidewalk. It is too large for us to move. The city will have to remove it and probably plant a new tree.

I am writing to report a broken tree limb that poses a safety concern. It appears that the limb was damaged during the storm we experienced at the end of March 2023. The tree in question is located on city land outside of my property boundary at 1301 W. 8th Street in Bloomington. The broken limb is specifically situated at the intersection of Adams Street and 8th Street, where there is a significant amount of pedestrian traffic. The footpath visible in the attached picture is frequently used by pedestrians crossing from the sidewalk on Adams Street onto 8th Street. The presence of the broken tree limb in this area creates a potential safety hazard for pedestrians. Additionally, there is a slight concern that the broken limb obstructs the view of the Adams Street bridge for drivers turning right onto Adams Street from Fountain. This obstruction may affect the visibility of oncoming traffic, potentially leading to traffic incidents or delays. I kindly request that the relevant department of Bloomington takes immediate action to address this issue.
