Last two Sundays Switchyard park especially the playground has been covered in trash. The best part is that there have been multiple parks employees standing around some "picking up trash" in the same small area for long periods of time. Not sure if this is a "not my job" situation but it really wouldn't take much time if employees showed motivation in cleaning up the park.
My wife took our kids to switchyard park today and went to the playground area where 3 men who she did not know seemed to follow her and the kids around various areas of the playground. They were hanging around close enough for her to feel unsafe and leave the park, which is very unlike her. My request would be for areas (particularly those used by younger children) to have an increase security presence so folks aren't feelin this way in our parks.
Hey! I am wondering who is responsible for clearing the multi-use trail all along Bloomfield Rd? I thought it's the city's responsibility but it seems inconsistently cleared. I've walked that path three times now to get to and from work and there hasn't been much change in the past few days. Just wanted to check in about that! Thanks!
Recently, I've seen several young Tulip Trees infested with scale in the neighborhoods where I walk. I first noticed them because their bark is so black I thought they'd been scorched, but when I looked closely they're covered in scale. The trees are between the street and the sidewalk, so I assume they're city trees. They're in the Sherwood Oaks, Peppergrass, and surrounding neighborhoods. Here are the specific locations for the one's I've found so far: • Benson Court, just west of Jamie Lane. The tree is on the south side of the street. • Heather Drive, west of Preston. There's one on the south side of the street and another on the north side a bit further down the road (near Grasstree Ct.). • Allendale Drive, west of Bainbridge. On the north side of the street.
There's a dead city street tree along Acuff Road behind 1158 Sugarberry Court. Also, city street trees along Sugarberry Court are hanging in the roadway and on sidewalks
Tree 35138 is rotting pretty badly on the sidewalk side
One of the two trees in the City ROW in front of this house (the west tree) is almost completely dead with large branches high up that look like they could fall any minute onto something or someone. The east tree looks fine, except for all the vines growing on it that could be stressing it.
Two dead branches have now fallen from this tree. One in the winter and now one in March that fell on a car now covering the sidewalk
