We suspect the folks who mowed the Park Ridge Park on Friday blew large quantities of unmulched leaves and pine needles into our yard, in particular to a small stripe of yard. Given that 1) the city has already picked up leaves in our neighborhood and 2) we are trying to mulch (per the city's request) but given the large amount of leaves deposited in such a small area, we do not have a good solution for getting rid of these leaves. A a minimum, we request that Parks and Rec ensure that the mowing contractors do not blow leaves and pine needles out of the park (and ideally trail) into our yard.

The water fountain is leaking. Water is seeping out around the base of the fixture. Thank you for addressing the erosion to the north of the steps leading up to the shelter and park. Also, there are multiple areas of erosion around the park. Notable areas are to the east of the shelter and to the south of the sidewalk on the south side of the playground structure but there are presumably other bare areas prone to erosion due to their location on a hill or in a high traffic areas. To prevent long term damage to the structure of the park and not having the shelter area turn in to a muddy mess, please address these issues.

There are bare (grassless) spots throughout the park, either carrying over from last year or spots where chopped leaves killed the grass over winter. Please remain leaves as needed and put out grass seed and straw to help prevent the park from becoming a dirt mess and to stave off erosion from around the park structures. Thanks!

Erosion to the north of the access stairs is causing rock to accumulate at the bottom of the trail. Not only will the original problem (the erosion) get worse if left unmitigated, but the rocks are catching skateboard wheels etc of children playing at the park and on the trail, creating an unnecessarily dangerous situation.

Hi - there is a mosquito infestation in the woods between Oaklawn park & meadowcreek. I can see the trail from backyard. There was a cloud of mosquitos. It is a wildlife sanctuary there are what I believe rare birds I do not want it cut down but I want an arborist/ ecologist to assess if pine forests naturally have 2 feet of weeds, vines, underbrush. I googled misquote habitat & it says this exactly. Does the city own this easement ( trail)? If not - is it in city limits & issue a citation? I looked on city website there is a line here so I don’t know if the woods is on city or county side. There is a new disease in America , EEE, that mosquitos carry and it can be fatal or cause seizures. I know Mother Nature does their landscaping. To the City of Bloomington, There is a ~500 foot stretch of unmaintained city property, along the north side of the 300 thru 400 block of S. Morton St and boundary of the B-Line trail. This area has heavy overgrowth, attracting trash and debris and becoming a dumping location. A recent dumping of two discarded bicycle frames has prompted calls to police for possible theft related activity. The overgrowth is obscuring street signage, that could be a security hazard to drivers thinking that northbound from Smith on to Morton is unrestricted - which it is not. This area of overgrowth is encroaching on both S. Morton St, and the B-Line trail, and recently we've observed numerous late night gatherings of homeless/vagrants (on the B-Line) because it appears that this overgrowth provides visual shelter and seclusion from being observed along the B-Line from S. Morton St. If it hasn't already been used in this way, this area is prime for unsanitary use for urination or defecation in this stretch between S. Morton St and the B-Line trail due to the seclusion this overgrowth provides. To the north and south of this heavy overgrowth, the similar stretch of B-Line boundary is well-groomed, and offers the public the desired visual beauty of the trail, yet this ~500 foot section provides exactly the opposite as described in this cleanup request. We are asking that the City of Bloomington put this stretch of unmaintained city property between the 300 thru 400 foot blocks of S. Morton and the B-Line Trail, on a regular, ongoing, and permanent maintenance plan. Owners/Residents of 348 S. Morton St.

Last year the City replaced a dead tree in the tree plot with a service berry. However, the service berry is now more than half dead, including the main trunk. Can you replace it with something else? The City did water it all last year so I don't know what happened. Thanks.
