In June, the terrible storms that knocked down many trees all over the city and left many of us without power for days also caused some damage to the trees on the trail loop in RCA park. My backyard is next to the trail, and there is a very tall tree with a massive broken, dead branch that is still hanging on. I foresee this breaking off the tree soon and falling straight onto my backyard fence as well as blocking a portion of the trail. To keep my fence from being destroyed, is it possible to have this branch cut off and removed? I live at 1018 W Countryside Ln.

Near the intersection of Thornton and Buffstone court ( on the right hand side and near middle of sidewalk is a large hornets nest in the ditch. If you walk on the sidewalk they attract you. Two of my neighbors were stung repeatedly this past week. This is dangerous as if you walk down the sidewalk they attack you. Children use this sidewalk to walk to school

There is a weeping willow at the corner of E Southdowns Dr and S Hawthorne that took a hit during this afternoons storm. We have cleaned most of it up and stacked it nearby for pickup. The problem is, there is still a very large, broken limb hanging dangerously above the walkway that we could not reach. For this branch to be removed, will require a lift and bucket to reach. There is a pine tree on the corner lot at the northwest corner of Hillside and Woodlawn that is leaning dangerously toward Woodlawn. I drive past it a couple of times a week, and it has worsened significantly in the last few weeks. The rootball is visibly pulling up from the ground. I reported this via the CBU phone number a couple of weeks ago, but nothing has been done yet. I'm concerned the recent freeze and impending thaw will cause the tree to topple. Thanks for checking into this.

Why do City vehicles park in the bike lane instead of the street? Many times while riding my bike on 7th street this year, I have had to ride around City vehicles parked in and blocking the 7Line because the driver was watering trees or something. Firstly, it's much easier for a car to drive around a truck than for a cyclist going up a steep hill and more vulnerable than drivers to have to ride into oncoming traffic or try to squeeze around an enormous truck. Secondly, this sends the signal that the City prioritizes drivers over cyclists. I should hope that's not actually the case, but it feels like it. Why not park in the car lane? Either side would be by the trees that are in the median between the 7Line and the car lanes, and it wouldn't impact the safety of the City workers. But it does impact the safety of people on bikes, who are already at more risk of injury from crashes.

Is it possible to add some additional picnic tables at Schmalz Farm Park Shelter? There is currently only 1 picnic table.
