- 12/4/2023
I turned in some street lights along the Polly Grimshaw Trail 814-4248, 814-4249, 814-4254 because they were out last Saturday night, while the others were working.

Erosion noted between 7th street and the bike path as it curves under IN 46. Not bad now, but going to cause a hazard as it gets worse.
People path east of the IN 46 underpass trail and north of 7th St. is low hanging and impinging the path.
trash in bike path
While removing the bush honeysuckle from behind this guard rail and into the preserve the erosion from stormwater runoff was noticed. How can we look to mitigate this drainage issue? I can email a photo and video but, attempting to submit it in this report isn’t working.
Homeless person sleeping at the west end of parking lot my entrance to pool. We then walked north and took the walking trail through the center of park.. heading west. It looked like a small encampment of tents on right side of trail by creek. Wanted to let you know
The brush and small trees growing along Sare Road just past Moores Pike. As you head south on Sare Road towards Rogers.. the brush is literally on the road. That area is tight anyway with the trail and foot bridge to the right. Even with the reduced speed limits, very hard to navigate. Thank you
Parking lot area very overgrown with weeds The parking lot by community garden And low hanging tree limb over sidewalk on south side of park
Lots of trash in the waterway areas visible when walking from the parking lot at Switchyard Park off of South Walnut toward the stage area. I would be happy to help clean it up with a crew sometime.
I am writing to bring your attention to a serious safety concern at the entrance of the Winslow Sports Park in Bloomington, Indiana, specifically the lack of a sidewalk and clear crosswalk on Highland Avenue. As a concerned resident and frequent park user, I would like to request immediate action to address this issue to prevent potential accidents and injuries. On [date], I had two close encounters where I almost got hit by cars speeding into the park and not paying attention to pedestrians. This alarming situation made me realize the imminent danger that exists for both pedestrians and drivers. Given that the park is designed to promote pedestrian activity, it is essential to create a safe and accessible environment for all users, especially considering the large neighborhood across the street. I kindly request the following actions to be taken as soon as possible: 1. Construction of a Sidewalk: I urge you to install a sidewalk along Highland Avenue leading up to the entrance of Winslow Sports Park. This would provide a designated path for pedestrians and separate them from vehicular traffic, ensuring their safety. 2. Installation of a Clear Crosswalk: It is imperative to establish a clearly marked crosswalk at the park entrance, complete with visible signage and pedestrian indicators. This would serve as a visual cue for drivers to yield to pedestrians and encourage safer crossing. By addressing these concerns promptly, we can prevent any potential accidents and injuries that may arise from the current hazardous situation. Moreover, enhancing the accessibility and safety of the park would further encourage pedestrian engagement and contribute to the overall well-being of our community. I kindly request that you consider the urgency of this matter and allocate the necessary resources to implement these changes. I am also willing to collaborate with the appropriate departments or community organizations to help facilitate the process and ensure a successful outcome. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I believe that with your support, we can create a safer environment for all park users and foster a greater sense of community. I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding the proposed course of action.
