Previous report (185419) says the city returns “abandoned” shopping carts when found. The real issue is the homeless (seminary park) are using these shopping carts and nobody is confronting them about stealing these shopping carts from local merchants. Just today (9/6/23) I saw multiple “city workers” at seminary park while people there had shopping carts full of crap but nobody doing anything about the issue. These are not the property of these people just because they stole them. Merchants aren’t selling these shopping carts. These are obviously stolen and the people need held accountable and the shopping carts returned. Thanks!!!

There is an overcup oak in the Goat Farm / Rogers Family Park which appears to have lobed oak galls attached all over. These contain larva of the oak gall wasp. I did not know if this is an environmental / safety concern for the park, but I wanted to bring it to your attention. The tree is one of the first planted, smaller trees, on the left side of the trail if you are walking from Sherwood Oaks Park. Thank you!

Hello, We walked the B-line trail today as we do 1-2 times a week. Today the homeless population presence was overwhelmingly obvious, and frankly, prohibits use of benches, etc. and/or feeling safe. I took 4 pictures but seem unable to load them on this site without losing everything. Someone was actually drying their laundry on one of the benches. There was an over-flowing and abandoned shopping cart along the trail. Not far from that was a "tented" picnic table with two people sleeping and their unsightly over-loaded grocery carts of personal belongings...we are used to homeless people on this trail. We have called the police a few times because we weren't sure the people were alive. We have never seen so many over-loaded shopping carts and drying laundry before. To be honest, we love this trail (going north not far from Kroger) but we don't always feel safe on it. I understand and can tolerate a certain amount of mental illness but not harrassment. I do not claim to know a solution to homelessness, but it seems to me that parking shopping carts, drying laundry and taking over benches that are for people walking the trails should be monitored and at least an attempt made to clear it up. If you let me know an easy way to send you my pictures, I will but including an image here did not work for me. This is the worst I have ever seen this trail look (and feel) in the ten years we have lived here. Thank you for your attention. Eileen Caird

I'm writing with a complaint/suggestion about the mowing of Bryan Park. I am retired and live on South Manor Road. My backyard faces Bryan Park across the street. On days when the weather is nice, I enjoy sitting on my deck in the morning, drinking coffee and bird watching, usually between 7:30 and 8:30. Many (most) mornings the gentleman who mows the park is on his riding mower and mowing along either side of Woodlawn, starting as early as 7am. Yesterday it was 7:30, this morning it was 7:45. It's loud and disruptive; this morning the cat panicked and ran inside! Is it necessary to mow near houses so early in the morning? Could it be suggested to the gentleman to mow the interior of the park that early? Thanks for considering,
Rich

The homwless are back dragging in matress and blankets and much miscellaneous putting an enclosure, then leaving and of course leaving piles of trash Much of th trash looks like items given them so they can live on the streets then they abandon it all and get more items to live elsewhere and leave trash there again. When will this giving to them stop so they have to be in shelters.

the abominable condition of the large homeless camp has been made even more disasterous by flooding. Debris and probably syringes are now plastered onto trees for a great distance
