A full bag of trash was emptied along the south side B-Line this morning. This occurred on the west side of the trail between light posts 11-12 or so and is going directly into the creek. There have been bags and piles of trash left along the trail. If City employees are monitoring the trail for trash, please ensure they are diligently visiting the south end of the B-Line as it gets a lot of discarded waste. Additionally, the camp just south of the Switchyard Dog Park has basically become a landfill, currently inches deep in trash and waste.

Please clear all of the homeless camps along the Bloomington Rail Trail. They are living along the trail on City owned property and it is making the trail less safe for everyone who uses the trail system. Please clear all of this illegal activity out before it becomes a bigger hazard like it has done in many other areas of the City. A secluded, wooded trail area is not the proper place to allow this congregation of a community that is known to have murders, thefts, fires, drug use, and other issues in various other camps the City and County have shut down. Take this seriously and clean up the trails for the residents of Bloomington be safely enjoy.

Subject: Urgent: Request for Removal of Dead Trees on Public Land Dear Madam/Sir, I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue regarding our property at 3020 S Stratford Dr. The southern and eastern perimeters are populated with numerous dead trees, on public land. We have reported this matter to the Urban Forester in August, and they know about the issue, we are on their list. We understand that they have immense workload, however, the urgency of our situation has increased as with each passing windy day, large branches have begun falling into our yard, posing a risk to both property and safety. We fear that the upcoming sub-freezing temperatures and spring tornado season will exacerbate the situation. Therefore, we kindly request that you prioritize the removal of the hazardous trees at your earliest convenience. (We have also started felling hazardous trees within our land.) Can the city do something about the very large homeless encampments on both sides of switchyard park - B-Line trail near the dog parks. I like to bring my dogs to the dog park, but am uncomfortable with such a big encampment of homeless so close to the park and the kids play grounds as well. There’s a lot of trash blowing around on at both encampments and this afternoon they had open “camp” fires burning. As a single women with my dogs, I have to say I’m very uncomfortable walking my dogs on the B-line in Switchyard park and using the dog park with so many homeless camping in the immediate area of Switchyard park. Along the southern edge of South East park there is a brambly thorn bush that is over hanging the sidewalk. Could it please be trimmed back off the sidewalk so pedestrians are scratched by the thorns? I think the best way to describe the location would the edge of the park nearest the house at 1811 S Montclair.
