It seems the baseball fields either do not have proper drainage or are not given any sort of priority or care after it rains in an attempt to make the playable for youth baseball leagues. We have had more games canceled in the recent weeks than we have played. All while other local fields in town continue to be able to successfully get theirs ready and play.
Games canceled again tonight even though there has been no rain in 36 hours. There were no attempts to work on them yesterday to remove water so they could have a chance to dry out today.
I completely understand that weather is no one‘s fault, but we need to find a way to protect the Winslow baseball fields from rain. My family and many others have paid for the Bloomington junior league baseball Association season and we are now going on the third consecutive night of canceled games. Only field three appears to have standing water. Can you all please work to find a solution to maybe cover or tarp the infield so they do not get waterlogged and the games can be played. the solar panels at Winslow woods baseball fields are damaged. These kids were further damaging the solar panel by pounding on them with a stick.
The trails around Winslow Sports Park are still covered in snow and ice. People use these trails to commute to work and school. Please clear them as soon as temperatures allow for removal. The section of trail parallel to Wexley Rd is particularly bad.
The path around winslow sports complex is one that I bike every weekday. This patch of trail is VERY dangerous right now with an edge to it that has gotten even larger over the past month. I bike with my two kids on my bike and it is a section of the trail that I'm afraid will pop my tires or will cause me to derail. I know there are those who use walkers and other such accessibility items and I assume that for them this is also a large issue. Thank you for helping us have awesome parks.
Someone has trashed the shelter at Winslow Woods. There's party trash and broken glass all over the shelter and on into the woods. It's a terrible mess.
It really would be great if the City would do something about the shape of the aging ballfields at Winslow such that an afternoon storm on one day doesn’t affect two or more days’ worth of baseball games – it seems to have gotten progressively worse over the last few years. As a local business owner, I would be extremely frustrated to sponsor these facilities when a little rain keeps the fields from being playable.
we are playing at Winslow Sports Park Tennis court (Down side court). There is a craking sound from backside big tree. I am little bit concerned about whether that tree might be fall down some time, and it might be broken to Tennis court fence or any citizen who are playing tennis in future. Could you check that tree's craking sound? Thanks
There is a green/gray tent up towards the hill on the northwest interior of the Winslow Woods Nature park. Up a steep hill after crossing the small "river", halfway through the loop where the trail splits in 2. Smelled smoke nearby and noticed it the past few times I been up there.
