Noise complaint on second street at the corner of fess
I live directly next to the Landscaping Services Building roughly by 10th Street & Jefferson. The level of noise they make at 4:30-5:30AM is unacceptable. I implore the city to please contact Landscaping Services (affiliated with IU-Bloomington) to push their hours back to 7-8AM. It is a total disturbance to my neighbors and me. Banging metal, trucks beeping as they back up, loud engines, car lights that shine into our homes & other community disturbances. I expect a response from the city on this major quality of life issue. Thank you so much for your time. I enjoy living here in Bloomington in every other regard besides this matter. Thank you!
I witnessed a man getting sucker punched in front of blue bird nightclub shortly before 12;30am on June 22. Officer 67 arrived within a few minutes and placed handcuffs on the man who was sucker punched. I immediately told officer 67 that I saw the perpetrator walk down the alley, but officer 67 told me to get back and would not listen to me... while I was watching the perpetrator walk down the alley. Other witnesses were also telling officer 67 the perpetrator was getting away. Officer 67 acted emotionally in arresting the victim. It was wrong. I could identify the perpetrator. When is this city going to clean up all the passed out junkies littering our streets? I can't even shop in my own fucking city anymore. Last night I went downtown to eat dinner and I'm the span of 4 blocks I was harassed for change multiple times, someone threatened to steal my sunglasses, and a man was shitting in a trash can wiping his ass with his bare hands right outside town hall. Seriously when are you going to wake up and do your job. I've lived in major metro areas and have never seen anything close to this. People openly smoking crack, nodding off on heroin this is a fucking mess and someone is going to end up getting hurt or worse.
Police non performance of duty. Found cat in hot car over 100 degrees. When owner came out after 30 min. police did nothing! Gave the cat back to this idiot and drove away. This is appalling!
People living in woods on city property Southwest corner of 11th and Rogers... trash, bicycles, tarps, trash cans
I'm tired of being solicited by homeless people anytime I walk around downtown. I love this city and I love living downtown but I am hesitant to even walk a few blocks away from my apartment because I'm relentlessly confronted by homeless people. I have no problem with homeless people and I'm willing to pay my part of the taxes to get them steady jobs and homes, but soliciting hard working residents should not be tolerated and the authorities must step in
We had a request for extra patrols to monitor the intersection at Kingston and Longview. The caller said drivers routinely "fly through" the busy intersection, putting other motorists and pedestrians at risk.
My wallet was stolen from my cousins car. It was left open for 20 minutes when went back it was done. I had my social and my permission to work id. What's the next step?
Situation in the McDoel neighborhood. This area is subject to ongoing problems with the homeless population leaving much trash, stealing from our yards, and leaving used needles about. If this was going on in more affluent areas like Sherwood Oaks there would be something done about it but the city has simply not put enough effort into keeping our area safe for the poulation who lives here. The various shelters cannot do much to influence the behavior of their clients. Another issue is that the shelters and especially Shalom Center encourages people to come to Bloomington rather than encouraging other towns to take care of their homeless. We are full of these people and many of us are fed up with their behavior and the numbers of them. McDoel has been an upcoming area with a mix of working class and professionals. Colder weather has subdues the homeless activities but with warmer weather coming many of us feel Switchyard park will again have numerous issues with panhandling and trash and encampments with druggies. There are several encampments in the area populated mostly be drug users. Anything they drag in does not leave and we have some areas of way too much trash. How about some enforcement ?
