Sidewalk routinely covered grass and debris, unsightly and a fall hazard
Some vines in the alley have taken over the power pole, I’m not really sure if this is the city’s issue or Duke’s, but we could use some assistance getting these vines off of those worse in the alleyway between Kirkwood and 6th St
City parcel on w Cottage Grove is overgrown and has been reported several times it's covering the sidewalk and it's the only sidewalk on the street that kids walking to school use. The weeds are also growing along the curb .
The east alley running beside 417 East Cottage Grove Avenue (between 417 and 421 East Cottage Grove Avenue) is in need of repair. Asphalt is a preferred method of this repair (asphalt alley entirely from Cottage Grove Avenue to 11th Street). The gravel washes out on this alley due to its grade. Tree limbs from this address are hanging out into the roadway. Need to be cut back as it makes it difficult to see when coming around the curve.
A new resident moved into the neighborhood recently who is in a wheelchair (permanently). He appreciates the ADA-compliant corners at the intersections, but he has difficulty navigating some of the sidewalks where they cross alleys. This particular location is *notoriously* degraded and should be the first alley-repair done next time the City is thinking about ADA issues. Specifically, it is midway between Lincoln and Grant on the south side of 10th. Thank you.
There is a spot in the street at Post Road and Meadowlark where it was cut into while the street light on the other side was installed. It was patched after the installation but now it has partially collapsed and may get worse.
I’m following up on 204624, which I reported last week. I was happy to see that a railing had been installed with 48 hours of my filing the complaint, and I know my complaint had nothing to do with the railing getting installed. I’m asking that the city pay more attention to these uneven sidewalks and require property owners to mark them with paint, cones or, in the best case scenario, railings. The uneven sidewalks seem to be likely a violation of the ADA. There was a similar situation in front of Sweet Greens before they finally installed a railing, and there is still a similar situation in front of CVS on Kirkwood. Thank you.
Both curb ramps on each side of this intersection have bumps up that are not accessible height for wheelchair/rollator
