School bus drivers are complaining the light barely stays green long enough to get from Oakdale through the light to Basswood or to turn left. This is my 2nd time putting in this request as I was told this light is maintained by the state and I would need to contact INDOT. I did that and they referred me back to you. Here is the e-mail I received from them regarding this: [email protected] Dear Ms. Silvernail, Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The intersection of W Bloomfield Road and Oakdale Drive/S Basswood Drive is outside of INDOT jurisdiction. Those roads are city streets under the jurisdiction of the City of Bloomington. I understand that you contacted them already, but I can confirm that they are city streets, which INDOT does not maintain. Here is the link to their website: https://bloomington.in.gov/departments/public-works/street and phone number: 812-349-3448. You can stay informed 24/7 by visiting 511in.org or by downloading INDOT TrafficWise in the app store. Spring forward into safety! Buckle Up, Phone Down. Traffic light is out
The pedestrian console on the pole next to BJ;s on College mall Rd is hanging by wires from the pole. Needs to be repaired. See the picture.
The S. Walnut / Miller Drive traffic light isn't working properly after the utility work was done at the intersection last month. The Miller Dr light cycles green when there are no cars and it stays red on S. Walnut for 40 seconds...way too long for no cars on Miller.
The road is too narrow approaching the intersection at Kinser Pike and 45. Traffic gets very crowded and unnecessarily backed up. -Amanda Mentzel (I was unable to put my name in the fields above.)
You guys could start planning out where your guises work zones are going to be throughout the city so you guys don't just have one main street taking you for one side of the highway to the other , But that's just me a citizen and that would make too much sense
The white strips on Rogers Street and Dodds Street indicating where cars are supposed to stop are worn out. Drivers have a habit of driving through the intersection without stopping and drawing more attention to the stops would be beneficial. The stop signs could also have a reflective strip on them to draw more attention to them. 1st Street and Rogers could also benefit from the same improvements.
Can we extend the left turn arrow interval for west bound Patterson onto Rogers so more than three cars can make it through the intersection while Country Club is closed?
Can you add 5 or 10 more seconds to the left turn arrow for Northbound on Walnut left turn onto Grimes? Traffic is backing up to Hillside at all times of the day because of the Country Club closure. 15 seconds is not enough time.
