Broken sidewalk in front of 1008 2nd Street and next door at 1004. May as well do both at once
The sidewalks on our street are dangerously raised. This issue was first reported about two years ago, and we also notified city crews in person when they were here for other work on our street. The sidewalks are used daily by children in our cul-de-sac, which makes this a serious safety concern. Additionally, tree roots are growing under the sidewalks and into our front yard. Our lawn care provider even expressed concern that his equipment could be damaged by the exposed roots. These issues require immediate attention from the city. Could you please let me know—via email or phone—how you intend to address this matter at your earliest convenience? Thank you for your prompt attention.
Broken panel on the sidewalk in front of location.
Bollard pole missing it's cover on the northeast corner of Lincoln St and Kirkwood by the library.
The cement planter on the northeast corner of the location is broken.
Can the City review this section of sidewalk at College Ave and Kirkwood, right out front of The Tap? It may be out of compliance with the City ordinances that require a minimum 5-feet of width for sidewalks. This portion of sidewalk has felt narrow and congested for years. Today, I was walking through and with other foot traffic got pushed to the side where that limestone corner cap sticks out beyond the base of the planter and hit my leg on it. The railing from the Tap combined with that planter creates a significant hazard for pedestrians and restricts the flow of foot traffic. The sidewalk narrows right there. This could be fixed by removing the planter.
Pervasive issue with uneven brick/cement/asphalt at the stylized curbs on the bike path. Asphalt is uneven with the angled cement curb pieces, which are uneven with the bricks. Missing bricks at other locations. These uneven angled triangle cement parts have damaged parts of my wheelchair several times. I am making the report at the Rogers St coordinates, but the issue extends across most road crossings between North Adams all the way to Kroger. North Adams, Fairview, and Rogers are by far the worst ones, but most need addressed. If you want me to take pictures and send individual reports for every crossing on the bike path, I can do that.
Previous ticket was marked as completed, but I see no improvement to the encroachment of grass and debris onto the sidewalk, making it too narrow for wheelchair
Thank you for grinding down the curb entrances to these sidewalks. Unfortunately they are still not accessible, the north side curb is still too uneven between the street and the sidewalk. The south side curb/sidewalk is angled in a sketchy way that sends the momentum of the wheelchair straight into the main road and it's hard to correct and stay out of the road.
