Storm drain has been blocked and will cause excessive water pooling when it rains. This is on the north side of the house-5th Street.
leaking water line
There is water constantly flowing out of the ground on the alley east of 213 E. Cottage Grove about 40 feet north of the street. The water is bubbling up and flowing south to the street then flowing east to Lincoln. When it was cold recently a glacier formed there that was dangerous to walk or drive on. It i now getting swampy there - still dangerous but in a different way. Both City Utilities and property owner were notified, but it is not clear if anyone has determined where the water is coming from. Good to check the meters in the area, e.g., 701 N. Lincoln, 700 N. Washington, 706 N. Washington for any unexpectedly high usage.
As can be seen in the photo there are three dry creek beds (swales) feeding the area where the runoff water is pooling during a heavy rain fall. Cause of the pooling is the drain through a small ridge is eroded and clogged up. City needs to remedy this issue.
Storm drain on W. 2nd st facing S. College is clogged
The manhole cover for the sewer on W 7th Street close to Elm is not secured. I stepped on it and it moved under me and I almost fell in the hole.
Dear city of Bloomington, While I'm grateful your team has looked into this, the issue is far from being resolved. The repair work did not make any improvement in the noise. The remedy that was done the first time worked for awhile. The grate needs to be opened and cleaned out so that it seats properly. A rubber ring or some kind of padding needs to be placed on the contact points to reduce the vibration. The loud noise is going on 24/7. I'd like to invite a member of your team to see it for yourself. Feel free to contact me and I can meet you at the site of the storm grates. This should stop the noise when cars drive over them.
The Hunter foot path, between Eastside and Mitchell, which is maintained by the city, has a spring bubbling up through the pavement at the west end of the house at 500 Eastside Drive. You can see that the water is undercutting the pavement, and the city can expect that it will collapse in upon itself sooner or later. Hopefully, not when somebody is walking or biking over it.
bike path dug up. gravel down. dangerous to cyclists. this is the polly grimshaw path? corner of 8th and Overhill in Green Acres neighborhood
