I am not sure what the owner of this building has planned, but it seems there has seem some slow work done to the house since my husband and I have bought and renovated our home a year and a half ago. In this time, we have seen animals come and go from this abandoned house, seemingly homeless people come and go from the basement and the windows boarded up. This home is in utter disarray. With so many homes in the prospect hill area being renovated and maintaining the historical feel, this is one of the few if not the only home that is a major eye sore on our neighborhood. I am not sure if there can be anything done legally to motivate the owner to do renovations more quickly or to just tear it town. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated to address this problem. We've had a problem with invasive Tree of Heaven ever since the city came a couple years ago to clear the overgrowth in the "alley" space at the northwest corner of the property. Since then, the overgrowth has of course returned, but it's now more aggressive, with the inclusion of Tree of Heaven, which is spreading to the rest of the property. It might be a good idea to clear that overgrowth again. Perhaps there are other preventative measures that can be taken.

808 W 2nd St home is unoccupied and lawn hasn’t been cut in months. As a neighbor I’m concerned with bugs and overgrowth encroaching into our yard.
