Sidewalk Snow Removal
1403 S Woodlawn Ave, Bloomington, IN 47401, USA
- Case Date:

Carlisle Brake Factory has not cleared its sidewalks along Woodlawn Avenue. I almost hit a guy walking in the street with a cane this evening in the dark because the sidewalks are impassable due to snow. The pedestrian was not making smart choices wearing all black and walking in the street, but what other options were available to someone with accessibility issues when a property owner has neglected to clear snow for well beyond 24 hours after the snow stopped falling? Will the city issue a warning or citation or something? Thanks.

Tenant's mother called. Stated the house next to 1406 Atwater has overgrowth and garbage near her daughter's window well. She is stated that is causing bugs to come into her daughter's room. She would like the house next door to be cited for overgrowth/garbage.
Possibly not 1404 E. Atwater, but 1425 Hunter. She was not sure if it was to the west or south. I stated if it cannot be seen from public right of way, we cannot go on to property without permission.
Would like a follow up call from inspector.

There is a strong gas leak smell coming from the back of the house. We can smell it in adjacent yards and sometimes from the road. It was bad enough. We called the gas company who says that it is propane not natural gas and the smell was the leftover unburned gas coming out of the vents. This house should be using natural gas, so I believe that the furnace has been improperly modified and is using the wrong kind of gas. This is entirely without human supervision, because the owner does not live at this residence or in town.
