The occupants of this house stand in the doorway smoking cigarettes and when they are done they throw them into the street. I have seen this many times and they take no caution about any pedestrians who are walking on a sidewalk right into the path of a flying lit cigarette. I do not feel comfortable approaching these people. Thank you for checking on this ongoing littering problem.
This time I have included a photo. This is how the sidewalk and gutter has been since I moved here a year ago. Disgusting. Note the cigarettes on the sidewalk as those are the ones thrown from the door with complete disregard for people walking in the public right of way. Previous Ureport is #175706. On the south side of E Cottage Grove, between numbers 714 and 712, there is poison ivy (among the other vines) on a tree on private property not too far from the sidewalk. The house in the photo is 712, but upon looking at the maps and street view, I think the tree is on the 714 property. I figure I can leave that to you to figure out officially.
Cigarette butts all over front yard; brown couch in back yard; appliance, chairs, etc. in yard. Siding coming off. Cable hanging low in alley.
Dead trees along the alley. Also an ailanthus tree along alley that has grown 15 feet since the spring,spreads like a weed and kills good trees -- it is growing into the alley. The ailanthus needs to be cut and poisoned to prevent it from spreading. She tried to contact owner, but no answer.
Trash is in the alley behind 714 E. 2nd Street

Caller said the grass/weeds are very high between 710 and 714 E 1st ST, on the tree plot side of the sidewalk.
