The sidewalk on the NE corner of Forrest and 11 is not accessible. It has a severely steep grade and bank (one corner is much higher than the opposite). I would not travel along the block on the North side of 11 between Forrest and Walnut Grove because of it.
Vegetation overgrowth. Makes this sidewalk impassable because it's a sticker bush.
Large shrub in front of house is so large that it is mostly preventing use of the sidewalk right there. House might be an IU property. Does City have jurisdiction over Campus?
At the NW corner of the intersection of 12th and Fess, there is a relatively new, ADA-compliant sidewalk/curb installation. There may be physical and/or legal reasons for having the center, raised concrete portion present, but it is not obvious and as a result is a trip hazard. We have tripped on it several times. There is a current project at the same intersection, so we were hoping that they could redo it or at least paint the section yellow so that it stands out. It is dangerous the way it is now.
I'd like to submit a request to have the bike path and sidewalk cleared of overhanging vegetation. This is particularly dangerous at the curve of Eastgate and 46 as walkers have to walk on the street where cars quickly turn onto Eastgate. Griffin Realty "For Sale" sign has been placed in the City right-of-way in front of this house. Company has been contacted about the issue, but they have hitherto arrogantly dismissed the situation. Sign should be located on south side of sidewalk on the actual property being offered for sale, not in the City right-of-way that makes the sign visible for several blocks.
There is a sign advertising an AirBnB rental attached to a tree on the property at 813 Kirkwood Ave. The tree is one of two on either side of the alley next to the property, and is located on the berm between the street and the sidewalk, and so appears to be in the city's Right of Way. As far as I understand it, this signage is in violation of the Bloomington Municipal Code, Title 12 (Streets, Sidewalks, and Storm Drains), Chapter 24.080 (Trees and Flora), Ord. 08-06 ยง 2 (part), 2008) - Prohibited actions, which states "(2) No person shall do any of the following to trees subject to these provisions: (b) Attach any wires, nails, chains, cables, advertising posters or any other contrivance" I would appreciate it if the city removed this sign and prevented such actions by the landlord in the future.
