Blocked Street

Case Date:
9/12/2021

There is a recurring problem at this intersection. Drivers heading west on 3rdSt/46 and turning south onto College Mall Rd routinely block the eastbound traffic on 3rd St by blocking the intersection after their turn light turns red. Tonight the intersection was blocked for the eastbound traffics entire green light. The Do Not Block the Intersection signs go unnoticed or unheeded. I’ve contacted the Mayors office before and my complaint was forwarded to someone who couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything to address the problem. I’ve contacted the Police Department who said it wasn’t a priority and they didn’t have the manpower to do anything even if it was a priority. My suggestion is to make the Do Not Block the Intersection signs more noticeable and to shorten the duration of the left turn signal for those turning south onto College Mall Rd from the westbound 3rd St lanes. Thank you.

Blocked Street

Case Date:
9/30/2021

N North street is a dead end road. The end of the road has taken over the turn around and the little road that was started and on Google maps, turning left. Behind that's black and white truck is where the road should be but there is a demo derby car sitting on a trailer there . It has been moved up and down the road and placed in different spots but this is where it is sitting now . There have been several other junk cars that sit there too . They have filled this property and the whole street with scrap metal, junk cars, doors, motors, broken lawnmowers and such. This has created an issue with the sanitation department not wanting to come down the street to gather trash and recycling and the City Post Office does not feel comfortable coming down this road because they have to back out. If this property was properly maintained there would be a turnaround and an additional Side Road. The squatters that are there have taken over everything and put a no trespassing sign up so that people can't even (right side of photo) turn around down there. My address is 656 N North st. Please help clean this area up. My family is new to this street and have already called HAND and the fire chief. It is a dangerous situation if someone were to need a fire truck or ambulance. The main street is still not marked properly also. The intersection of Fountain and gray is waiting for a street sign. My concern with that is my mother will need an ambulance and ambulance will not be able to find the address.

Animal Control & Neglected Pets

Case Date:
8/19/2023

On August 18th at around 8:15pm, two female puppies at Rev Earnest D. Butler Park were roaming free without a collar. The two dogs then followed my dog and I back to my home. I then loaded the dogs in my car and drove back to the park area and surrounding streets in hopes of finding someone looking for two lost dogs, but I found no one. I then went to the Bloomington " Animal lost and found" Facebook page and discovered that these dogs were found loose on August 1st, 2023, and returned to the owner (no name provided on the post). I then posted about the found dogs on the facebook page last night, to which the alleged owner, Nicole Lynn Davis, replied the following day around 11am and requested I call her immediately so that she can retrieve them. I have contacted the owner, but she has yet to reply. The phone number she provided is 812-509-4809. Assuming the owner respondes, I am concerned that I will be returning these dogs back into the hands of neglectful and irresponsible owners. These dogs are afraid to leave my side and seemed very relieved upon allowing them into my home.

there seeems to be a strong anti-asian sediment within bloomington and i have felt racially discriminated against by having services denied or prolonged due to purposeful errors. I have heard social workers make comments such as "I hoped he'd leave "and tell others seeking services not to talk with me and ignore him. I came here after completing residential rehab at hickory treatment in linton. At centerstone after waiting for insurance approval, which was granted, I was told they felt I only need peer support- not the outpatient treatment that's always a follow up to inpatient and housing etc along side. I went to shalom where i was already on the national permanent supportive housing list for at list a year in Indiana but originally qualified do to homelessness in Kentucky. I also needed Photo i.d- cost of $11.50- without which i can do nothing. This was in january with it taking 3 weeks(notified them of return twice do to incomplete paperwork and then incorrect amount) for the check to be cut. On second week now waiting for check. As stated earlier i was already approved for housing on national list and been on local list for 3 months. I know people start fresh and already been housed and people lose their housing and get re-housed while I still at wheeler mission. This was at shalom center and I filed a complaint with the attorney general on the issued with my I.D At wheeler i get kinding blowed off. I went the food stamp office to get aid but my case worker there didnt send the fax correctly so my case was closed. Meanwhile I know that theres mostly donated so the food may switched up during serving but definately have gotten smaller portions and food that been grossly overcooked. As the only asian in this situation i have to say its definately discrimatory action at all three place-all verifiable. I really want to rally against these actions and my treatment- as homeless and an individual felt it would go unheard- Come to find out at IU there a group of medical students called MAPS i believe that are mostly asian and have felt discrimation in bloomington also. I only feel it fair to notify you as you may not even be aware and give you the oppertunity to correct the situation. I pray the you can react in a timely manner and contact me shortly with solutions on this matter. James Hale 812-671-8665

City Performance

Case Date:
8/11/2023

Just a few things that the city seems to be ignoring: why is there still a sign at Building Trades Park pointing to the now non-existent emergency department on Second Street? Why do Transit buses still post notices in August informing passengers that Sunday rides will be free in the spring of 2023? Why does transit have a display case downtown with the heading “Memories” that contains not traditional memories but legal notices? And why does the mayor still include a link for donations to his mayoral campaign in his monthly Let’s Keep in Touch emails?

Nathan Dahm is seeking to end asymmetric post cold war Chinese %10 import Chemical Psychological warfare. I hope the city is making note of the court cases and or pending up coming legislation. More so after city employee David Parkhurst responded to my petitions as unfounded stating such water treatments standards are harmless and there is no difference between Calcium v/s Sodium fluoride. But then again he is amoung the fools who supported Huston South Project 2,154 acres of herbicide in the water shed for Lake Monroe

The trees along Sudbury drive need to be trimmed. The branches hang down so low, you have to drive your car down the middle of the street to keep from having the limbs scrape your car. The north side of the street is especially bad. Also, no one takes care of the grass on either side of Sudbury beyond the Millenium apartments and the office park.
