There is a growing pile of garbage behind and alongside the house of 501 S. Mitchell. This adjoins a walkway that links two parts of Hunter Ave and it's just above a waterway that feeds into Jordan River. Reporter is concerned about rats and other sanitation issues that could occur if left untreated.

This structure is abandoned and the yard is being used as a toilet by the homeless. The west window appears to be open or missing. The front porch floor is buckled.

Caller was headed westbound on Old 37 and was attempting to turn left onto N. Walnut St. and the light did not change.
The light was not changing in response to cars headed west, but would change when a car approached heading east.

Mary Friedman originally emailed the Office of the Mayor January 14th, 2016 complaining that this property had been abandoned for the last 5 years. At that time coyotes were living in the home. However, she emailed again October 19th, 2016, saying the property is now being occupied by a group of homeless people.

Mr. Hill said he had too much recycling for his two allotted recycling bins. He sorted all his recycling and puts the rest of it into two black bags to recycle. However, they were not picked up.
